President Donald Trump seems to have a new name on his ever-growing enemies list: “The Breakfast Club” host Charlamagne tha God. After a recent appearance on Lara Trump’s Fox News show, “My View with Lara Trump,” the popular radio personality told the president’s daughter-in-law he wouldn’t give Trump’s first six months in office a good rating because his policies are hurting the most vulnerable communities in the country.

“The least of us are still being impacted the worst,” he said. “Anything that takes Medicaid away from people and that’s going to put people in a worse financial situation than they were previously in, I’m not for.”
He added that he believes the controversy surrounding Trump’s relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein could be the beginning of the end for the MAGA movement and a way for more traditional conservative Republicans to regain control of the party.
“I think they know this is the issue that has gotten the base riled up,” he said. “The MAGA base isn’t letting this issue go, and for the first time, they know they can probably take the party back and not piss off the MAGA base.”
Charlamagne, who has been equally critical of former President Joe Biden, told Lara he’d like to see some new energy in Washington, and suggests someone like comedian and “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart run for the Democratic Presidential nomination in 2028.
“If we’re talking about like a change agent coming from the outside that’s really going to shake things up and somebody that I think can speak to all people, plus he’s a celebrity who actually knows what they’re talking about,” he said. We’ve seen him get legislation and stuff passed before.”
As you can probably guess, Trump didn’t take too kindly to “The Breakfast Club” host’s suggestion that his grip on the party isn’t as strong as ever. The President wasted no time doing what he does best – posting a rant about the interview on his Truth Social platform calling Charlamagne a “racist sleazebag.”
“He’s a Low IQ individual, has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth, and knows nothing about me or what I have done,” Trump wrote.
Trump also took issue with the fact that the 47-year-old host, whose real name is Lenard McKelvey, calls himself “tha God,” writing, “Can anyone imagine the uproar there would be if I used that nickname?”
But of course, the always-outspoken Charlamagne was not about to let Trump get the last word and wasted no time clapping back. On the August 4 episode of “The Breakfast Club,” he named the President the “Donkey of the Day,” a title reserved for people the hosts think are especially ridiculous.
“I’m one of those silly rabbits who still believes in the First Amendment, ok, freedom of speech. I don’t have to agree with what you’re saying, but we should all agree that you have the right to say it,” he said.
Charlamagne said he didn’t care about Trump’s personal insults, but was concerned about him not being truthful about his record, including his claims to have ended five wars. He added that he’s concerned about Trump’s tendency to personally attacking people who question him.
“We are in a strange time right now, a time we have never seen because authoritarian strategy is being used against anyone who speaks out against this administration,” he said.
