While things have been mostly quiet on the Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion front, all that changed on Monday thanks to a new update. But unfortunately for Lanez, it’s not looking good for him.

As you may recall, we recently told you that Lanez was still pushing to get out of his 10-year prison sentence for shooting the “Bigger in Texas” rapper. His latest appeal attempt was recently shut down less than a week ago with regard to that case, but it appears he’s due back in court again due to a completely different suit altogether. Specifically, Lanez is involved to a degree in the defamation case Megan filed against blogger Milagro “Gramz” Cooper.
In that suit, Megan alleged that Cooper conspired with Lanez to spread lies about her. She’s also suing Cooper over allegations of cyberstalking and emotional distress. Megan’s attorneys subsequently filed a motion requesting to interview Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, under oath as they investigate the cyberbullying claims. That motion was later granted by a judge.
Now, it seems like Megan’s lawyers’ attempts at interviewing Lanez have proven futile as the “Say It” rapper allegedly became “disruptive and unresponsive” when being questioned. According to TMZ, Lanez was approached at least three times to be disposed–all of which were unsuccessful–but his most recent encounter on Nov. 14 was the last straw.
That’s when Lanez allegedly refused to answer questions and asked what sanctions he’d be hit with if he chose not to speak. After being informed that he’d get hit with a fine, sanctions and more time in prison, he allegedly responded: “Whatever the fines are, I’ll pay them. I’m a millionaire. I don’t care.”
Per Complex, Lanez also allegedly kept storming out of the room and insulted Megan’s lawyers by calling them derogatory words and claiming that they hadn’t shown him all the exhibits they were planning on using before speaking with him. What’s more is that Megan’s legal team alleged that Lanez’s lawyer Crystal Morgan attempted to “coach” the rapper and didn’t tell him to answer their questions.
“She engaged in lengthy speaking objections, coaching the witness, and continued to do so after she was requested to stop,” the order read. “Even after her objections were ruled upon, she did not once instruct her client to answer Plaintiff’s questions.”
As a result, both Lanez and Morgan were held in contempt of court with the “L.U.V.” rapper getting fined $20,000 while Morgan was hit with a $5,000 fine “for her part in the obstruction and her failure to uphold professional standards.”
