D’Angelo, former Saturday Night Live player Maya Rudolph and her bandmate Gretchen Lieberum performed “Sometimes It Snows in April,” from the soundtrack album to Prince’s 1986 film Under the Cherry Moon.

The haunting lyrics resonate with many fans who think that Prince predicted his own death in the song.

“Sometimes it snows in April; sometimes I feel so bad; sometimes, sometimes, I wish that life was never-ending; and all good things, they say, never last,” the trio sang.

“I often dream of heaven and I know that Prince is there,” D’Angelo sang as he made an adjustment to the song’s lyrics. “I know that he has found another friend. Maybe he’s found the answer to all the April snow.”

Many may not know, but Rudolph has a Prince tribute band called Princess and has been playing venues across the country for about five years.
