Tiffany Cross Calls Stephen Miller a ‘White Supremacist’ On CNN, Here’s What MAGA Did to Her

Former MSNBC host Tiffany Cross is drawing criticism for her comments about White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

Former MSNBC host Tiffany Cross is no stranger to attacks from the right for her straight, no chaser commentary on race relations and the country’s current political climate. But now MAGA loyalists are coming for Cross for comments she made this week about President Donald Trump’s White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

And because she defended her statement as simply stating a fact, they are calling for her to be fired from the network and sued by the Trump staffer.

During an appearance on “NewsNight with Abby Phillip,” Cross weighed in on Miller’s attempt to make the case for National Guard troop deployment in other cities like Chicago, suggesting that Washington, D.C. residents feel safer since the troops have been present on the city’s streets.

“You have people who can walk freely at night without having to worry about being robbed or mugged. They’re wearing watches again. They’re wearing jewelry again. They’re carrying purses again,” Miller said at an August 25 press conference.

But Cross called on journalists to look beneath the surface of Miller’s comments before they share them with the public, saying they are rooted in racism.

“Any time that we play something from Stephen Miller, it would be journalistic integrity to point out that he is a white supremacist and he is the brainchild behind this policy,” Cross replied on Phillips’ show. “That’s not my opinion, that’s actual fact. And for him to purport lies from the Oval Office as a white supremacist, it should be pointed out”

Her words fired up supporters of Trump’s agenda, who joined in a chorus of calls for her to be sued for defamation.

“Mr. Miller must sue Cross for defamation – a slam dunk case if I ever saw one,” wrote someone on X.

Right wing activist Charlie Kirk weighed in to defend Miller, adding that the National Guard troops are saving Black lives.

“CNN’s Tiffany Cross called Stephen Miller a white supremacist last night on live television. Why? Because he’s helped architect a crackdown on DC crime that’s saving mostly black lives,” he wrote on X. “I hope he sues her for defamation.”

Cross, who was the host of MSNBC’s highly-rated Saturday morning show “The Cross Connection,” from 2020 until 2022, says although she was never given a reason for being let go, but believes it was because her opinion was anything but popular with the right.

“I was never given an official reason for why they canceled my show,” she said in a 2024 episode of her ‘Native Land Pod.’ podcast. ”but it was pretty obvious that I had drawn the ire of white conservatives.”
