Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

In June 2022, it was revealed that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s father Rocky Johnson fathered five more children with five other women outside of the two half-siblings Dwayne previously knew about. Speaking to Sports Illustrated about their complicated family dynamic, The Rock’s half-sibling Adrian Bowles has talked about his uber-famous sibling sparsely, noting that he and the rest of the siblings don’t harbor any ill feelings towards him for not knowing about their existence.
“Dwayne has nothing to do with the decisions that his dad made; he doesn’t even know who we are,” he said.
Added his half-sister Lisa Purves: “Dwayne doesn’t owe us anything.”
The “Fast & Furious” star has yet to speak publicly about this revelation.
Solange Knowles and Beyoncé

Though Solange Knowles and her megastar sister Beyoncé have a great relationship now, things got off to a shaky start as they coming into their own talents. Speaking in an interview with Refinery29 in 2010, Solange reflected on how she felt growing up in the shadow of her sister’s fame and her desire to stand out on her own.
“I feel like if I didn’t have a sister who was a huge star, no one would think twice about how I look, because they would have no one to compare it to. I would just be another gal who wears loads of vintage or counts Grace Jones as inspiration,: she said at the time. “But because I’m Beyoncé’s sister, I’m an easy target to say, ‘There’s no way those two had the same parents, and have one be naturally this way…this has to be a ploy for her to appear cool!’”
Later, during their mother Tina Knowles’ press run for her 2025 memoir “Matriarch,” she shared that she had to take the girls to therapy when they were younger to get a grip on their rift.
“I realized that they weren’t listening, and I saw a wall between them coming, and so I got them in therapy,” she shared per PEOPLE.
Ray J and Brandy Norwood

Ray J’s rocky relationship with his famous sister Brandy Norwood is well documented at this point. Its strain comes from years worth of wild behavior and shocking moments. Ray himself has even said on numerous occasions that while he loves his sister, he feels he’s an embarrassment to her and the family and that he rarely comes around just to keep things copacetic.
“I love my sister, but I don’t think I’m her brother no more,” Ray recently said during an interview with Cam Newton earlier in the summer. “I’m just me, man. I’m dolo. I’m dolo. Whatever that is and I’m good with that.”
Tony and Chris Rock

As we told you before, comedian Tony Rock has previously opened up about his salty feelings towards his little brother Chris for not casting him in projects over the years and cited the 2010 film “Death at a Funeral” and the 2005 film “The Longest Yard” starring Adam Sandler as examples.
“My brother sometimes…he’s a businessman when it comes to his movies and TV stuff,” he said during an October 2024 interview. Later on, he touched on how he was “crushed” when he thought the opportunity was finally coming for he and his brother to star in a project together, but Chris dropped the ball.
“Yo, bruh, that shit crushed me. That shit crushed me. I’ve never seen the movie ‘Top Five,’” Tony explained at the time.
Carey and Bruce Kelly on R. Kelly

Bruce and Carey Kelly have talked extensively about their incarcerated brother, disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly (legally Robert Kelly). During the 2019 documentary “Surviving R. Kelly,” Carey detailed how he came to the “Ignition” singer when he was young to tell him that he was being molested by a family member, but Robert didn’t believe him.
For Bruce, he somewhat defended Robert’s “preference” for younger women, saying at the time that he didn’t understand what the “big issue” was.
Wendy Williams

In 2021, things between Wendy Williams and her brother Tommy were put on front street when the latter blasted the former daytime talk show host for allegedly not attending their mother’s wake.
“What makes somebody not go to their mother’s funeral? I don’t understand not giving a salute to the one person who was always there and showed you support,” he said in a YouTube video at the time. “I don’t get how you can just move on and act like nothing happened.”
Wendy would soon clap back during a live segment of her eponymous show and told Tommy that his words were bleeding into what she had going on. Years later, in 2021, Tommy told the U.S. Sun that his response to his sister was a “knee-jerk reaction” and he should’ve been more empathic to how different people deal with grief.
Thankfully, things between them have gotten better since then as Tommy’s been playing a part in the “Free Wendy” movement to help get her from out of her guardianship.
Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry-Housely

On the surface, acting twins Tia and Tamera Mowry-Housely have had a good relationship for decades. But the veil was seemingly lifted when, in December 2024, Tia shared that she wished the two of them “were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her.” Naturally, that got people curious and “The Game” star had to come back and clarify that there was no beef between the two of them and that she was referring to being geologically closer to Tamera and her not being as “accessible” as they were before.
“There’s this special bond that we will always have that will never leave us,” Tia said at the time. “What I meant by that was, she’s not as accessible to me as she used to be. That’s a part of life. Change is constant. But change does not mean that something is wrong.”
Loreal and Keke Palmer

During an interview with each other for Entertainment Tonight, Loreal Palmer spoke about her experience growing up with her famous little sister, Keke. Touching on whether or not she was jealous of her sister’s fame, Loreal explained:
“I was never jealous in the sense that they’re thinking. It was moreso, ‘what is my acting? What is my entertainment? Why can’t I find my thing? So it was moreso that…I went through that of trying to find what my thing was and when I look back at it on my eyes of today, I wouldn’t change a thing.”
Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson

Though Janet Jackson has been one of her late brother Michael’s biggest and loudest supporters, she revealed in a 2022 documentary that he used to tease her for her weight when they were kids.
“There were times when Mike used to tease me and call me names. ‘Pig, horse, slaughter hog, cow. He would laugh about it and I’d laugh too, but then there was somewhere down inside that it would hurt,” she said at the time. “When you have somebody say you’re too heavy, it affects you.”
Rebbie Jackson and Michael Jackson

While Rebbie Jackson was supportive of her brother Michael, especially as he was dealing with his legal issues, she previously spoke out on her feelings that he tried to “sabotage” her and her siblings solo careers.
“Michael did it again, he dangles the carrot and we’re supposed to jump,” she said in a chat with the New York Post in 2013.
Shortly after Michael’s death in 2009, Rebbie also opened up about his drug abuse problem and shared that she played a hand in trying to help him get better.
“My brother had a problem with drugs, and he was in denial,” Rebbie said at the time. “There were many interventions by the family members, and I was involved in a lot of that. It was such a sad thing and it hurt so bad.”
Yetunde Price, Venus and Serena Williams

On a more positive note, Yetunde Price–the late older sister of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams– talked about the close bond she shared with her famous siblings.
“They’re still my sisters,” she said to PEOPLE in 2003. “We don’t get into the fame thing too much when we’re all together as a family.”
Serena has also spoken positively about Price, noting how her death was still a difficult thing to talk about and shared fond memories of her.
“Yetunde and I were so close; she changed my diapers,” Serena said in 2007. “But I finally came to an acceptance of things.”
Price was killed during a drive-by shooting in Compton in 2003. In honor of her memory, both Venus and Serena opened the Yetunde Price Resource Center in 2016. Speaking to The Root about the endeavor at the time, the sisters said: “It meant a lot to us, to myself and to Venus and my other sisters as well, Isha and Lyndrea, that we’ve been wanting to do something for years in memory of her, especially the way it happened, a violent crime.”
Bebe and Cece Winans

Gospel greats and siblings Bebe and Cece Winans have always seemingly had a united front, but things weren’t always peachy between the two of them–especially during their childhood. Speaking in a new interview with PEOPLE, Cece revealed that they would often get whooped as kids for fighting and disagreeing with each other.
“Our parents, they would never support us fighting. Actually, we used to get whippings for trying to fight when we were little. But disagreements, oh yeah, we disagree,” she explained.
However, because of that they learned how to resolve their issues quickly with Cece usually being the first one to apologize.
