If you don’t know, Lee’s family confirmed her death on Christmas day via a post to her official Instagram. While the cause of her death hasn’t been confirmed just yet, she was unfortunately recovering in an intensive care unit following a series of cardiac arrests related to complications from the flu, according to CBS News.
“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” the statement began. “Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on ‘Big Brother,’ where her authenticity, strength and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike. She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.”
As sad as Lee’s death is, it’s led to a resurgence of an ominous moment from her season on Big Brother that aired earlier this year. In the now-viral clip, Lee and fellow house member Ashley Hollis could be seen discussing palm readings they received from another woman in the house. While joking that the lady (Ava Pearl) was unclear about which of their palm lines meant what, Lee revealed that Pearl told her that her “lifeline was short.”
Lee went on to say that asked Pearl if she was “going to die” and that she was tried to backtrack by saying that she wasn’t reading “the right line.”
“I’m like Ava, you’re not good at this at all,” Lee said with a laugh. “Stick to your day job for sure.”
Now, however, after watching this moment back, fans can’t help but feel some type of way.
“This is so devastating,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.
“This is wild in hindsight. Rest in Power, Mickey,” said another. “Gone too soon.”
Added another, “This still gives me the creeps. RIP Mickey!”
