This Jacksonville Deputy Tased His Partner in His Hindquarters on Camera, Here’s What Happened Next

"The incident is unfortunate, but in the heat of the moment is always a potential while we are taking combative subjects into custody," a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesman said.

A Florida Sheriff's deputy has some explaining to do after one wrong move resulted in him tasing the wrong guy. What started off as a simple case of a suspect resisting arrest led to the alleged bad guy getting away... and it was all captured on camera.

Two Jacksonville officers stopped Kheilan Haynes, 29, during a traffic stop on Saturday (June 21). He had reportedly ran a red light, according to an arrest report obtained by TMZ. But when the deputies tried to cuff him, Haynes started ignoring orders and even began resisting arrest. Officer Z.J. Poole soon tackled the guy to the ground while his partner, Sergeant T. Robinson stood above them. But here's where things get tricky.

Haynes began putting up a good fight against Poole, forcing him up from the floor. That's when the sergeant pulled out his taser and fired it at the suspect. In the footage taken that night, you can see once the taser is ejected, it had little effect on the suspect. The next logical move would be for Robinson to try his weapon again, and he did just that.

What he didn't account for was in all the tussling between Poole and the suspect, his taser landed on the wrong guy. Instead of Haynes, Robinson ended up tasing his own partner in the butt. This obviously took Poole off guard and temporarily paralyzed him enough for the suspect to run off.

"He tased the police," the eye witness filming the incident yelled. At this point, it was clear both officers were no longer able to keep up with Haynes, who ran full speed away from the deputies. Video shows another cop car turning on their lights, seemingly to try to follow Haynes, who wasn't wearing shoes.

"The incident is unfortunate, but in the heat of the moment is always a potential while we are taking combative subjects into custody," a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesman told WJXT. "Incidents such as this are always reviewed to ensure we are using the most appropriate techniques and force during an apprehension โ€“ this case is in this process as we speak."

Eventually, officials were able to to track him down, tase him successfully and take him into custody. Now, the 29-year-old has been charged with felony drug charge for fentanyl, and misdemeanor charges for resisting an officer without violence and possession of not more than 20 grams of marijuana, according to TMZ.

Haynes is being held on a $512,000 bond, according to WJXT. His arraignment is set for Aug. 15.
