When Abdul Robinson Sr. agreed to testify in a bombshell murder trial, many in the Jacksonville, Fla. community were shocked. Robinson spoke softly as he took the stand, often swaying his seat and avoiding eye contact with the defendant.

That is until he was asked to point and identify the man allegedly responsible for the crime… his own son. But Robinson himself is also in hot water over the crime. Let’s break it down.
Hakeem “Ksoo” Robinson, 26, is facing life in prison if convicted of the 2020 murder. His brother, Abdul Robinson Jr., is also standing trial for the same murder. Emotions inside the courtroom were high when Hakeem’s own father copped a plea deal and took the stand.
During a 2023 deposition, Robinson told Hakeem’s attorneys he understood testifying could help seal his son’s fate in prison, WTLV reported. But Robinson said he had to think about himself and his other 10 children. “Self love first, right?” he told the court.
The 54-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of accessory after the fact. In exchange for testifying against Hakeem, the state agreed to “cap” the maximum sentence for Robinson at 20 years.
Robinson told the court on July 28 his reasons for testifying against Hakeem include ongoing health concerns and his other young children. “I just found out on June 25 that my kidneys are failing rapidly,” he said under oath.
Robinson went on to point to his son, identifying him as the alleged shooter. The father added that testifying was “the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life.” Robinson went on to give his account of the brazen 2020 murder that two of his sons are on trial for.
Ksoo Allegedly Gets Revenge
In 2019, a group of Hakeem’s close family members, including Robinson Sr., were in a car targeted by gunfire. Willie Addison, Hakeem’s step brother, was the only one struck and killed in the incident, according to WJXT. But it’s this tragic incident that prosecutors said prompted Hakeem’s alleged need for revenge.
According to testimonies, exactly one year to the day of Addison’s killing, a group of young men chased down and shot 23-year-old Charles McCormick as “get-back” for the 2019 mass shooting. Security footage of incident captures three unidentified suspects running after the victim before he was shot to death.
The suspects allegedly then ditched the car they were driving and ran in separate directions. One of the suspects reportedly called Robinson to pick him up, which is where one of the father’s accessory charges stems from.
Hakeem’s attorneys argued in court the description of the suspect does not match that of Hakeem, who stands over 6-foot-tall with long dreadlocks. Closing arguments began on day six of the murder trial.
