Vice President Kamala Harrisβ recent trip to Phoenix, was briefly disturbed by an unexpected red shower. A 30 year-old woman, Anasilvia Gomez-Zamora, reportedly doused the Vice Presidentβs motorcade in a mysterious red liquid last earlier this month.
But this is hardly the first time things have popped off involving Harris and a protestor. Here are some of the most jaw-dropping moments when a political stunt got hairy for the VP.

Obviously we have to talk about the mystery red liquid. Gomez-Zamora reportedly threw the mystery substance from the sidewalk as Harris and her entourage drove by around 6 pm. While the Vice President was spared from an unexpected and likely unwanted dousing, officers standing by werenβt as lucky. The liquid reportedly landed on eight Phoenix Police officers on motorcycles.
As it turns out, law enforcement told Fox 10 that the mystery liquid was βnon-hazardous.β However, Gomez-Zamora was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, endangerment and resisting arrest. No injuries have been reported.
There are still several mysteries surrounding the incident β what exactly was the red liquid and what were her motives?Β Some local outlets have pointed to the fact that Harris was in town for the administrationβs Fight for Reproductive Freedom Tour. Itβs possible that Gomez-Zamora was protesting Harrisβ efforts on reproductive rights. However, neither Gomez-Zamora or law enforcement officials have confirmed an official motivation.
In 2019, an animal rights protester jumped on stage during an event with then-Sen. Harris. Moderator Karine Jean-Pierre, who would later become White House Press Secretary, attempted to intervene. But the most memorable part of this encounter was when Harrisβ husband Douglas Emhoff jumped on stage and wrestled the protester for the microphone.
Clearly, Emhoff doesnβt play about his wife.
Probably the most unhinged series of political stunts pulled on the vice president were the multiple times Republican governors dropped asylum seekers and other migrants on her lawn running up to the midterm election.
Many of the migrants told reporters that they were tricked into getting on planes and busses and then unceremoniously deposited at Harrisβ residence. On one occasion, the migrants were sent to her lawn on Christmas Eve in in 18-degree weather without anywhere to go.
Frankly, in light of these two other incidents, a little red mystery liquid seems like no big deal.
