Wednesday night was The Root’s Young, Fabulous and Female event, this time held at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, and we had a blast!
An ambience of Black Girl Magic filled the room as our guests arrived. While enjoying delicious treats from our incredible caterer, David K. Simms of Eatible Delights Catering, women were able to meet, greet and bond with one another before our panel of phenomenal black women in the workplace.

Led by our moderator, Brooke Thomas, co-anchor of CBS 3's Eyewitness News This Morning and Eyewitness News at Noon, the panel included an intriguing and personal conversation with Danielle Belton, managing editor of The Root;Keesha Boyd, executive director for multicultural consumer services at Comcast; Cappuchino, radio host for Power 99 FM-iHeart Radio in Philadelphia; Rakia Reynolds, founder of Skai Blue Media; and Erica Dunbar Armstrong, author and Blue and Gold Professor of Black American Studies and History at the University of Delaware.
The panel was followed by an engaging Q&A with our audience members and concluded with remarks from The Root’s publisher, Donna Byrd.
