The lawsuit, filed in Texas, states that Joy β whose real name is Daphne Narvaez β made βfalse accusationsβ causing the βIn Da Clubβ artist to be subjected to βextensive public ridicule, hatred and contempt.β He added that her social media post was a βpurposeful attemptβ to ruin his reputation.
In a statement, Jacksonβs attorney Reena Jain of Blank Rome explained that βdespite being given ample opportunity to retract a false and malicious retaliatory accusation, Narvaez has shamefully chosen to interfere with her 11-year-old sonβs relationship with his loving father by falsely calling him a βrapist.ββ
The court documents also say Narvaez βretaliatedβ against Jacksonβs custody filing by posting several βdefamatory statementsβ to Instagram which βfalsely and publicly accuse Jackson of rape and physical abuse during their prior relationship, in a purposeful attempt toβ¦destroy his personal and business reputation.β
Her claims also allegedly harmed βJacksonβs commercial and business interests, negatively affect his custody case, and prevent him from seeing his minor son.β Jackson has called Narvaez claims downright false. The filing also reveals that Jackson and his legal team apparently gave Narvaez βmultiple opportunitiesβ to either fix or remove her statements.
When she refused, Jackson was forced to take action in order to βvindicate his rights and protect his reputation.β In March, Rodney βLil Rodβ Jones filed a lawsuit against Sean βDiddyβ Combs and accused Narvaez of being a sex worker for Combs. Narvaez publicly denied Jonesβ allegations, and Jackson mocked Jonesβ claims, causing Narvaez to respond with allegations of her own.
Jackson is seeking more than $1 million in monetary damages.
