The Real Story Behind That Photo Of JD Vance Arguing With His Wife Usha in Public

Black folks, if you thought that viral photo of JD Vance arguing with his wife at a restaurant was real… We have some bad news to share.

The internet is convinced Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, are headed towards a divorce. Even though Vance has denied any and all allegations that his marriage is on the rocks, one questionable Facebook post showing Vance arguing with Usha has Black folks divided on what’s real, what’s AI and what’s the truth about the Second Family.

You know how the internet just takes something and runs with it? Well, that’s what happened with a viral photo of the couple allegedly dining at a restaurant. In a photo, Vance is dressed in a white T-shirt while he seems to be yelling at his wife. Usha, who’s back is turned from the “camera,” has her head down, seemingly upset about whatever they were allegedly arguing about.

While there’s no proof that the photo is real, folks online ran with the possibility that the unhappy couple is doomed. “Omg he’s Going to divorce her,” @sf_leilani said on X. “We’re going to have a Henry the 8th situation were he tells the country he has to Marry Erika [Kirk].”

Following the assassination of conservative podcaster Charlie Kirk in September, rumors began swirling that Vance — a close friend of the Kirk family — and Kirk’s wife, Erika, could be romantically involved. There’s no evidence to support this.

“I’ve been saying Vance is going to divorce Usha and marry Erika Kirk before 2028. Something is seriously wrong with that man,” @MayRainAway tweeted.

“The JD Vance Divorce from Usha to marrying Erika Kirkkk timeline is imminent,” @unibroward4405 wrote. This conspiracy has grown legs over the last few months.

“He’s setting the stage for the inevitable,” @ladidaix said.

Vance reacted to the doctored photo on X, denying the authenticity of the post. “I always wear an undershirt when I go out in public to have a fight loudly with my wife,” he wrote on the app. If we’re being real, the vice president wearing a T-shirt in public should’ve been a dead giveaway that the photo was fake.

Still, folks will believe whatever they want! @hawillisdc said, “yall were on here arguing over respectability/what outfits are appropriate to wear at nice restaurants meanwhile the vice president just pulled up to le diplomate in an undershirt arguing with his baby moms in public.”

The woman who originally reposted the Facebook photo admitted to knowing the photo was fake. She said she was still surprised that Vance even addressed it. “I cannot tell you how absolutely hilarious and dystopian this is to me. The vice president of the United States retweeting a s**tpost I got from Facebook. Jesus Christ,” @natlawyerchic tweeted.

“Lmfao he’s actually addressing it, that’s wild,” @magicsincemac wrote. “Also means it 100% happened.”

But don’t be worried… Many Black folks immediately knew the post was suspicious. “Nah. This AI. JD would never wear cutoff tees,” @Bboy_Izilla pointed out.

“Hillbilly elegy or no I refuse to believe that the vice president of the United States is sitting in a restaurant and a white undershirt,” @iamn0tthe1 tweeted. “I refuse I know we’re going to hell in a handbasket but come on how do we go from MVP to this?”

“You can just post things like this and it can be 100% false or true,” @illustrevor wrote.
