The Heartbreaking Reason a Florida Man Allegedly Murdered a Man as He Was Having His Hair Braided

A routine braiding appointment turned tragic on Thanksgiving when a Florida man allegedly did the unimaginable to his girlfriend’s client.

For many, a hair appointment is a simple routine; a chance to relax and catch up with your stylist before walking out feeling like a million bucks. Over in Florida, one woman was braiding her male co-worker’s hair on Thanksgiving, but the appointment turned fatal after an uninvited guest showed up and allegedly did the unthinkable.

Jon Christopher Fuller, 31, and his girlfriend had been together for nearly a year and a half, an affidavit reviewed by Law & Crime revealed, and were expecting a baby together. But their relationship soon soured, after they began to accuse each other of being unfaithful.

After Fuller’s girlfriend, Nila Lindsey, moved from West Palm Beach to the Orlando area, he told her he would move with her “soon” after he was hired for a call center job. In the meantime, the physical distance between them began to cause issues in their relationship, per the outlet.

Lindsey believed Fuller lied about the job’s start date, became “upset with the defendant” and stopped “talking to him as much, which is why he has been questioning her being faithful to him.”

The day before Thanksgiving, Fuller told Lindsey over the phone how much he missed her and wanted to come see her for the holiday. She told him not to because she had plans, but Fuller reportedly wasn’t having it “and came to her apartment anyways,” the affidavit said.

It was around noon on Thanksgiving Day when Fuller, uninvited, showed up at her Summit Centre Way apartment complex in Orange County. She answered the door, but told him she was “currently braiding someone’s hair.” But that reportedly didn’t stop him from storming into her apartment.

Lindsey— who was nine months pregnant— didn’t try to stop him because she “assumed” he was “just going to watch her braid” 28-year-old Cameron Hoilette’s hair, per WESH 2. But he did not, the affidavit stated.

Without warning, and after Hoilette said he “would just leave and that he only came to get his hair braided,” Fuller allegedly shot him in the face, thinking she was cheating on him. Lindsey, scared she was next, fled the apartment.

Fuller reportedly had a “shocked expression on his face” after she told him Hoilette was just a co-worker getting his hair re-done. Fuller also fled the scene, without his girlfriend, despite asking her to come along. He was arrested that same day.

Orange County court records show the 31-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder. He plead not guilty and is currently behind bars without bond.
