It’s a blessing to have a best friend who sticks by your side in life, and the TikTok page @Besties_NYC has been capturing the stories of the cutest best friends who have been with each other through all phases of life. But their most recent post with besties Diana, who is a Black woman, and Candace, an Asian woman, will really remind you of the beauty of friendship, as the women explain how they’re sticking beside each other as Candace goes through one of life’s most difficult battles: cancer. Be warned, you might get a little teary-eyed.

As they walked down the street in Manhattan, @Besties_NYC stopped the friends and asked them if they would be willing to explain how they first met. Jumping at the opportunity, Diana said they met as college students, then explained what she loves about her bestie. “Her heart,” she said. “She’s such a soft, sweet person.”
While Diana’s reasons for loving her friend were already heartwarming enough, things became more touching as Candace gave her response for loving Diana.
“She’s my best friend. She’s always there for me. You know? For all my treatments. I have cancer,” Candace continued as she choked up and leaned on her friend for support.
Continuing for her, Diana added, “I’m there for her every step of the way. I sit there through the chemo and treatments. I go get the food. I’ve been through it with my mom, so I know how hard it was and absolutely I said, ‘You’re not going to go anywhere without me being with you.’ I just want her alive.”
What was really heartwarming about their story was Diana explaining that even though Candace is going through cancer treatments, it won’t stop them from living their life the same way they always have.
“We’re still gonna do our stuff. And we go on vacation every year to Barbados for two weeks. We have good times. Now that she’s going through this treatment, she needs it more than ever.”
Giving further insight into their holiday fun, the besties explained that their favorite thing to do is go turtle and monkey watching, and they plan to do it when they jet off to Barbados this year for their annual trip.
In the comments, folks could not get enough of the best friends and became teary-eyed at the beautiful bond the two women share.
“True friendship is better than romantic love I’m telling you,” wrote one user.
“Praying for them both and that Candace beats cancer! They deserve a long, long life together,” added another.
One user asked, “Who’s cutting onions?”
