When it comes to entertainment and culture news, journalist, podcast host and 2025 The Root 100 honoree Loren LoRosa always has it covered. She got her first big break in entertainment journalism in 2016 as a senior news producer covering the hottest in Hollywood headlines on the popular entertainment news series, “TMZ.”

LoRosa made her move to the East Coast in 2024 and became a guest host on the hit syndicated radio show and “The Breakfast Club,” and host of her own podcast, “The Latest With Loren LoRosa,” which received millions of views a trusted source of the latest news from inside the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The Wilmington, Dela. native knows that in her line of work, opportunities can be few and far between for women of color, but she has never been afraid to bet on herself. In a recent interview with talk show host Tamron Hall, LoRosa described her addition to “The Breakfast Club” crew as “bullying” her way in the door (in the nicest way, of course).
She said she refused to take ‘no’ for an answer, and once she got her foot in the door, she put her hustle into overdrive, looking for any opportunity to make herself invaluable to the team.
“I have a marketing background, so when I came into ‘The Breakfast Club’ as a guest host, I was able to see the show as a product [and] what I felt they needed,” LoRosa told Hall. “And the minute I felt like they were open to me bringing it, I was like ‘I’mma keep showing up, whether I’m paid or not, no matter how early I gotta get up.’”
Her persistence has clearly paid off. Now a permanent addition to “The Breakfast Club” crew with hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, Loren LoRosa is the epitome of a Brown Girl Grinding.
