Even though Mustard is enjoying the most success he ever has in his life due to the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” and other songs on “GNX,” he’s been a sought-after producer for a long time.
If you’re unaware, he’s worked with pop stars like Rihanna, street rappers like YG, and everyone between. With that in mind, let’s take a look back at some of the biggest and best songs Mustard has produced over the years.
Kendrick Lamar – “Not Like Us”
It’s only right that we start with Kendrick Lamar’s explosive diss track toward Drake. The record has become an international phenomenon and one of the most popular rap songs in recent memory. It became the most-awarded hip-hop song ever at the 2025 Grammys.
Rihanna – “Needed Me”
This is why fans have been begging for new Rihanna music, because of records like this. This addictive melody from Rihanna is aided by Mustard’s layered production, making for one of the best tracks from the pop star’s eighth studio album, “ANTI.”
YG – “My N***a”
This is the song that Mustard on the map for a lot of hip-hop fans. He produced most of YG’s debut studio album, “My Krazy Life,” and this was one of the album’s biggest hits. The simplistic production along with YG’s straight-forward delivery resonated with hip-hop fans.
Omarion – “Post To Be”
This will forever live in the social media hall of fame. Mustard’s catchy beat made for a fun anthem for young R&B fans to enjoy and thanks to Jhene Aiko’s infamous line, it’ll always be a nostalgic record for a certain generation of Mustard fans.
Ty Dolla $ign – “Or Nah”
Even though this isn’t a song kids should be listening to, it was a banger on social media and showed Mustard’s versatility to produce for both hip-hop and R&B artists.
2 Chainz – “I’m Different”
This song is just simply a banger and one of the songs that helped increase 2 Chainz’s popularity in hip-hop. The signature pianos are almost just as noticeable as the Atlanta rapper’s lyrics.
Mustard – “Perfect Ten”
No, this song isn’t nearly as popular as others on this list. But it’s such a touching song due to Nipsey Hussle’s inclusion. This record was released just months after the Los Angeles rapper was tragically killed outside of his Marathon clothing store.
Tyga – “Rack City”
This was one of the first hit records that Mustard produced. Released in 2012, it’s one of Tyga’s most popular songs and was the start of Mustard’s run as one of the most sought-after producers in hip-hop.
Big Sean – “I Don’t F**k With You”
I wonder if Mustard knew he made one of the best breakup anthems in recent rap history when he sent this beat to Big Sean. The song is a big middle finger for anyone who hates their ex.
YG – “Left, Right”
Mustard always had a knack for making party songs. While not as popular as “My N***a,” this was a fun track that exploded in LA and other parts of the country.
Ella Mai – “Boo’d Up”
Another example of Mustard showing off his versatility as a producer, especially for a young British R&B artist who was looking to make a name for herself in the States.
Kendrick Lamar – “tv off”
We had to. One of the most viral songs on “GNX,” was Lamar’s “tv off,” which may have given Mustard a new producer tag. It’s just a fun energetic song that brings out the best and fun side of Lamar.
Kid Ink – “Show Me”
Young hip-hop fans may not remember Kid Ink, but he was a popular artist in the blog era that peaked with the release of this 2013 song featuring Chris Brown.
Tinashe – “2 On”
Before her viral hit “Nasty,” Tinashe’s biggest hit was the 2014 song “2 On,” which launched her into mainstream history.
Mariah Carey – “With You”
Yup, Mustard has worked with pop legend Mariah Carey. Just further proof Mustard can work with anyone to create a great record.
