Wednesday’s MTV Video Music Awards ceremony was all about fun, fashion and having a damn good time. The red carpet was a refreshing sight to see, full of creative outfits from the world’s hottest artists in music. From Megan Thee Stallion bringing the class to GloRilla’s tribute to the late Left Eye, here are the looks that left us in awe.
Lola Brooke

This petite powerhouse—also known as rapper Lola Brooke—looked stunning in an unconventional pink ensemble.
GloRilla

GloRilla paid tribute to the late Left Eye from TLC. From the quirky hairstyle to the stomach tattoo, Glo really knocked this look out of the park.
Big Sean

Big Sean’s look was classic but modern, with navy blue definitely being his color. The fabric, which appeared to be lightweight, balanced comfort with award show cool.
Doechii

The “BOOM BAP” rapper looked preppy chic in this blazer and skirt combo. Her knee high socks and loafer platforms had Doechii standing a hair above the rest.
Megan Thee Stallion

The evening’s host, Megan Thee Stallion, was a sight for sore eyes in this black avant garde ensemble. The corset top accentuated her hourglass figure, with the gathered bottom being a surprising decision.
Quavo

Quavo put a quirky spin on the classic black suit look by using a cozier fabric and having flared pants to complete the look.
TS Madison

TS Madison showed up and showed out with a stunning red dress covered in butterflies to give the look some dimension.
Jordan Adetunji

Jordan Adetunji looked dapper in this lavender suit. The embroidery on the jacket as well as the chains that adorned his pants gave it a fun and fresh look.
Coco Jones

Coco Jones looked stunning in this lavender dress. Her metallic open-toed pumps perfectly complimented the look.
Shaboozey

Country sensation Shaboozey sported a tasteful button down shirt and tie. His denim pants were perfectly cuffed, but his beautiful locs stole the show.
Muni Long

Muni Long’s purple lingerie look—complete with purple boots and a cross necklace—definitely felt inspired by the late Prince.
Monaleo

Rapper Monaleo was a vision in fuschia, but her diamond grills stole the show.
Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X is known for his unconventional approach to fashion and his pink and white look was giving “out of this world” vibes.
Tyla

Tyla is becoming known for her fashion game. She had one of the best looks of the night with her strapless yellow dress and colorful accessories being both sexy and fun.
Yo Gotti

Yo Gotti’s grey suit, complete with a white shirt and white sneakers, felt crisp and on par for the rapper’s style.
Flo Milli

Flo Milli was oozing sex appeal in this sultry ensemble.
Halle Bailey

Halle Bailey dialed up the sex appeal with her strapless red dress, which revealed the right amount of skin. The fringe at the bottom added to the lighthearted nature of the look.
Lenny Kravitz

Rock god Lenny Kravitz has looked good at every age, so why not continue to push the envelope? His leather black jacket with matching flare pants is a look he has sported before. However, Kravitz decided to wear a tie with no shirt as well and it definitely stood out on the carpet.
Steve Lacy

Steve Lacy’s androgyny worked well as the “Bad Habit” crooner rocked red flare pants, chunky boots and a black handbag.
