The Best Black Celeb Halloween Costumes We’ve Ever Seen

A look at some of the best Black Halloween costumes we’ve seen in the past.

Halloween is this Friday, which means that celebrities are getting ready to take over our social media feeds with the costumes that they have planned for this year. Black celebs always show up and show out with amazing, funny, and brilliantly thought-out fits and somehow always manage to raise the bar, but while we wait to see what’s to come this Halloween, here are some past costumes we have liked.

Video will return here when scrolled back into view
You Won’t Believe the Reason Why This ‘High School Musical’ Movie is Monique Coleman’s All Time Favorite

Saweetie: Destiny’s Child

Saweetie always has fun with her Halloween costumes, and in 2020, she dressed as Michelle, Kelly Rowland, and Beyoncé on their Bootylicious single cover, and somehow managed to morph into each of the pop icons.

Janelle Monáe: E.T.

Talking about getting into character, Janelle Monáe literally transformed into E.T. as she was rolled down J Hud’s Spirit Tunnel. It begs the question: How can she possibly outdo herself this year?

Teyana Taylor: Madam Slay

Teyana Taylor is another celebrity who takes her costumes very seriously, and she killed it as Marvel’s Madam Slay in 2021.

The Carters: “The Proud Family”

In 2022, Beyoncé played the role of both Mama and Grandma Proud when The Carters dressed up as “The Proud Family.” Hopefully, there is another cute family moment coming this Halloween.

Megan Thee Stallion: Greta The Gremlin

Megan Thee Stallion is already the queen of cosplaying, so it’s no surprise that she always pulls off an incredible Halloween look, and surely this year will be no different.

Chloe Bailey: Mrs Incredible

♬ Good Time (1:08) – Jagwar Twin

Back in 2023, Chloe Bailey ate up this iconic Mrs Incredible’s outfit. If there’s ever a live-action film, we know who could play the role!

Halle Bailey and Halo: Lilo and Stitch

Halle Bailey shared a precious duo costume with her son, Halo, by dressing up as the characters Lilo and Stitch. These pictures must’ve gone right into the family album.

The Weeknd: The Nutty Professor

Last year, The Weeknd might have called Eddie Murphy to help him get into character as he went as “The Nutty Professor.”

Teyana Taylor: Loc Dog

Another round of applause for Teyana Taylor, but this time for her Loc Dog costume. Every detail of this outfit is just perfect.

Khalid: Gerald Johanssen

@thegr8khalid

Whenever you yell at me, this is who you’re yelling at

♬ Fragility – Flawed Mangoes

Khalid went all out when he dressed as Gerald from the 90s Nickelodeon animated sitcom “Hey, Arnold!” But that high top must’ve been heavy to carry all night.

Coco Jones: Donna Summer

Coco Jones channelled disco icon Donna Summer for her Halloween look, and we have no notes!

Beyoncé and Blue Ivy: Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson

Beyoncé usually pays homage to icons when she dresses up, and in 2014, she had Blue Ivy by her side as they dressed as Michael and Janet Jackson.

Cardi B: Jessica Rabbit

Cardi B pulled off this sexy Jessica Rabbit costume last year and looked absolutely fabulous.
