The Masked Singer has graced our television screens with countless surprises and guessing games among family and friends. And the Black guests who have appeared on the show have ranged from memorable to, well, missing the keys.

3 Ways to Think Like a Businessman, According to Executive Walter Davis

In no particular order, these are the best and worst Black guests that have appeared on the Masked Singer.

“Skunk”

“Skunk” first appeared on season six of the Masked Singer and the prolific singer graced the stage with various old school bangers such as “At Last” by Etta James and “A Man’s World” by James Brown

Faith Evans

Skunk was revealed to be Faith Evans during season six of ‘The Masked Singer’. The prolific singer graced the stage with various old school bangers with her Evans’ personal touch left everyone recalling why Faith Evans will always be a favorite.

“Bee”

Bee premiered on the first season of the Masked Singer while performing Sia’s “Chandelier” and Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”.

Gladys Knight

The Motown singer debuted her soulful voice for the first season. The Empress of Soul herself showed the crowd why she’s the Empress after all.

“Flower”

“Flower” made their debut for the show’s second season.

Patti LaBelle

Patti LaBelle, the name that launched a thousand sweet potato pies, appeared for another iconic performance. LaBelle’s voice was way too distinct to not immediately know it was her.

“Butterfly”

Butterfly was also on the second season of the show with Patti LaBelle.

Michelle Williams

Literally coming out with “Bang Bang”, the former Destiny’s Child star debuted belting out her signature vocal style. It was almost automatic how quickly the fans and myself recognized the now gospel singing star.

“Monster”

Monster appeared on the show for the first season.

T-Pain

Monster, to my surprise, turned out to be T-Pain. Although, the “Buy U a Drank” rapper revolutionized autotune, who knew he could actually sing without it. He shocked judges with his vocal range and charm.

“Woodpecker”

Woodpecker was on season 12 of the show.

Marsai Martin

The “Black-ish” actress appeared singing Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” who was surprisingly on key. Although, the performance didn’t blow me away, I was shocked to learn that our little sister can hold a note.

“Robot”

Robot was on season three of the show.

Lil Wayne

We love Wayne…as a rapper. He will always go down in history as one of the most greatest hip-hop lyricists of this generation, but singing is not on the list of his many talents. However, he did add his swagger to the performance which I was pleased to see.

“Leopard”

Leopard performed on the same season as Gladys Knight and went further than the Motown legend.

Seal

The people were not the biggest fan of the “Stand By Me” singer, especially not over Gladys Knight and Raven Symone who dressed as Black Widow that same season.
