For context, rumors surrounding the pair being “more than friends” first sparked in February. They were spotted seated together at the ABFF Honors the next month and the BET Awards in June. Taylor dropped stellar– and steamy– visuals featuring Pierre and LaKeith Stanfield in promotion for her forthcoming album, “Escape Room,” and wished Pierre “Cheers to Thirty-WON & many more wins around the sun” on Instagram. As a result, folks online began speculating on whether or not the two were really an item or if it was merely a sensual buildup to something bigger. Taylor’s candid and heartwarming remarks about her new project, and Pierre’s influence, has folks all in their feelings– in a good way.

During a recent interview, Taylor got more than candid about how Pierre “damn near EP’ed [executive produced] it [her album]. Not literally, but like, damn near.”

“It felt good to have someone be as passionate and as serious as you are,” the mom of two continued. “But to have a person right there that’s like, ‘Yup, uh-huh!’ To have someone on your side fully, hear you, and don’t think that your visions are crazy, don’t think that what you see or what you feel is crazy.”

“I’m really big on how you handle me– you got to handle me like a cup of tea. How would you walk with a cup of tea versus how you’d walk with a bottle of water. […] With a cup of tea, you walk slower, you’re more calm, more delicate– even when you sip it. What happens when you sip tea too fast? You burn your tongue. So I am a cup of tea.” The “Rose in Harlem” singer blushed how Pierre “handles me as such. He’s very gentle. It allows me to feel warm and to feel safe, and not be in survival mode.”

In June, Taylor also told GQ how “hands-on he’s been on this album with me.” She asked: “You ever sit back and be like, ‘This person don’t play about me’? I was like, ‘Yeah, you need to be my leading man, because you understand every single song, every single emotion, every single feeling, which is that, on set, you’re going to bring it.’”

While some ladies were heartbroken that “Aaron, Pierre, that’s Mufasa!” is off the market, others couldn’t help but celebrate their love.

Taylor’s new album, “Escape Room,” is set to be released on August 22.
