Desperate for answers, some mothers have gone on national television for a DNA test to identify the biological fathers of their children. But one guest from a 2013 episode of “Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court” is now accused of doing the unthinkable to the son at the center of her case.

Now, the mother is facing charges in a gut wrenching case years after her episode aired. All because she said they “were with the devil.”
It was early Saturday (Oct. 4) when Oninda Romelus, a Black mother of five, called 911 to tell police to meet her at a gas station in Angleton, a city about 40 minutes south of Houston. According to local station 10 News, when police arrived they made a gruesome discovery: Romelus’ four children shot inside of her car.
Two of her children — 8-year-old and 9-year-old girls — survived their injuries and are in stable condition after they were taken to a hospital. But Romelus’ 3-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son, for whom she appeared on “Paternity Court,” were declared dead at the scene.
In an episode titled, “Teen Mom: 2 Possible Fathers,” Romelus confessed to Lake how she was sexually involved with two men at the same time. Dewayne Seymore, her fiancé of four years, said on the show how she had sex with another man named Jeremy Covington when the late-13-year-old was conceived.
“I cheated him basically out of spite,” Romelus explained after claiming Seymore had stepped out on her first.
Neither of the men proved to be the father of her son, who was 18 months old at the time of the taping.
Romelus is also the mother of a 17-year-old son who is still unaccounted for. He was not with her at the time of the shooting, per reports, and wasn’t found during a search of her home. Officials found a large amount of social security cards, two unwrapped stacks of blank checks, 15 credit cards and other identification documents for numerous individuals, according to Fox 26.
The Haitian-born tax agent was arrested at the scene and was reportedly paranoid and incoherent when speaking with authorities. According to court documents, she said she called 911 because “instead of them doing it to me, I’m gonna do it to them.” When asked to clarify, she answered: “Kill them all.” She also told investigators her kids were “dead to her” and “with the devil.”
Romelus has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $14 million.
