The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death of Terence Crutcher a homicide, the Associated Press reports.

According to the report, Crutcher died from a “penetrating gunshot wound of chest.” Crutcher was shot and killed by Tulsa Police Officer Betty Shelby, who has since been charged with first-degree manslaughter.

Spokesperson of the medical examiner’s office Amy Elliott said that a full autopsy report and toxicology results are not yet completed. An attorney for Shelby said that the officer believed Crutcher was using the drug PCP, and a police spokesperson has confirmed that the drug was found in Crutcher’s SUV.
