Veteran news anchor Tamron Hall officially joined the Today show as a third-hour co-host, supplementing the team of four other hosts, the Associated Press reports.
Hall, a regular fill-in host for the show, will also continue to anchor her NewsNation show on MSNBC at 11 a.m.
"You know how important the Today show is to people, to viewers," she said as her colleagues warmly welcomed her. "Now I’m finally on the sofa."
The show's executive producer, Don Nash, issued a statement adding to the welcomes.
"We're really excited to officially welcome Tamron into the TODAY family," he wrote, according to Mediaite. "She brings wit, enthusiasm and a keen sensibility to an all-around fantastic team, and I think Tamron, Al, Natalie and Willie will have a lot of fun together hosting the third hour."
