Summer Walker’s ‘Finally Over It’ Album Cover Has the Internet Furious Over This One Detail

After Summer Walker unveiled her “Finally Over It” album’s cover, some folks online aren’t too happy over one particular thing.

It looks like singer Summer Walker has the internet in an uproar yet again. Ahead of the R&B star’s third album release on Nov. 14, she officially dropped the cover art for her project titled “Finally Over It.” But while fans of Walker are excited for new music, it’s the album’s artwork that has folks in a frenzy.

On the cover, Walker poses in an ornate wedding dress straight from the ’80s. She looks absolutely stunning, but it doesn’t take long for your eyes to focus on her left, where an elder white man– assumingly the groom– is dressed in all white, smiling from ear to ear. While some folks online understood the symbolism behind the cover, many others were simply not impressed.

“Sorry but why would you put an old white man on your album cover?,” @lakeemahmad asked on X.

“His ass don’t know wtf going on I’m cryin,” @crackcobain__ joked.

Another user, @hlomidunjana, said, “If you don’t get this old ass creme cracker off that cover????????”

Walker spoke about the inspiration behind her third album. The project references “old vintage Hollywood,” she said in an interview. She named celebs like Pamela Anderson and Anna Nicole Smith– who famously married an old, white billionaire in 1994— as inspiration.

Despite the online criticism, @amelphobic praised the singer. “Wait summer walker ate with the anna nicole reference.”

“Idc the cover eats. He’s smiling like he’s won a prize and she looks completely dead inside,” @uwitmeorwhat wrote. “Her hearts not in it fr but this is what she has had to resort to after all the bs she’s been through in previous relationships. There’s layers here.”

“I get it. Cuz loving a man just off the strength ain’t never did me no good! Sugar daddy me PLEASE,” @Jasminsword wrote.

@skinnyminnieog said, “Playing the game and putting money before love now…could possibly be the concept for the album.”

Still, fans weren’t feeling the vibes. “I’m not playing with you change this cover,” @nostalgiaonfilm said.

“She just piss me off so bad,” @windsy_b said.

“Hopefully the cover doesn’t reflect the music because this is awful,” @yoyotrav tweeted.

Walker made headlines in September when she pulled up to the 2025 VMA Awards with a white man named Mr. James as her date. That, coupled with a recent single “Spend It” telling men to “Buy back my love, you can keep your heart” continues the themes found on the cover.

“I like it cuz after all that hurt it do be like damn just give me the money atp,” @bigskiiszn said.

“Since n****s my age wanna play, I’ll be at brunch with my sugar daddy next summer,” @Lucci_Creno promised. “Don’t worry about it. Finally over ya’ll n****s.”

But users on X expressed their frustrations with “sugar daddy” culture. @tnaee_ tweeted, “I’m soooo over the tricking and sugar daddy music can we be in loveeee???”

“This is a dumbass cover,” @keyshiak33f said.

In addition to the controversial cover, Walker also announced alternative covers that folks online seemed to like better than the original. “This is cute and all but THIS is my fav,” @dwn4nbdy said on X.

@saokodomi said she’ll be “changing the cover on itunes when this releases.”

Regardless, true fans of the “Heart of a Woman” artist said they’ll be tuning in to the album regardless of the artwork. “Girl everyone so focused on the cover, I’m just waiting on the music boo,” @jjvante tweeted. “Yk the part that actually matters.”
