That actor is, of course, Sterling K. Brown, known for his stand-out role on “This Is Us.” The creator in question is StarboyFitness, and the conversations around him have trickled down to a larger discovery about the existence of Black Scottish people. Though more creators have surfaced, all eyes have been on the latest internet sensation.

StarboyFitness opens the viral video by welcoming his new followers. “Welcome to Black Scottish TikTok,” he says with a laugh, promising to “slow down so that y’all can understand me.” He then addresses frequently asked questions. “Number one, yes I am black, yes I am Scottish,” he confirms. “I’m not Sassanach, I am not Irish, I am not Welsh.”

He goes on to declare that he is 43 years of age and that he is “one hundred percent Scotch beef.” Ok, StarboyFitness! *clocking the tea*

He also makes it clear that he isn’t the only Black Scottish creator on the platform. “There’s a number of Black Scottish creators, so I will be sure to tag some of them so you can blow up their comments.”

As users explored this unexpected side of TikTok, many – especially women –could not help but point out the mirroring resemblance to Brown. One TikTok user posted, “As a Black Southerner, I understand you just fine, Scottish Sterling K. Brown.” Others joined in on the hilarious moment with memes about their attraction to the creator, with one person joking, “All of us planning a Jet 2 holiday right now.”

The buzz even reached the actor’s wife, Ryan Michelle Bathé, who addressed the viral comparisons. “I think about, maybe 495 people across 722 platforms have posted and tagged me about my Scottish husband,” she says while laughing. “I have seen it and I see it,” she repeats twice. “Yes, does he look like Sterling K. Brown? He absolutely does. Is that Sterling K. Brown? No, it is not Sterling K. Brown.”

“If this doesn’t put an end to these God-awful diaspora wars, child I don’t know,” Bathé continued. “I think this is the ancestors’ way of saying, ‘Y’all, if y’all don’t shut up about talking about each other on these damn apps?’”

She went on to share her viewpoints, stating, “I have watched so many African say the most God awful things, and African Americans… had no idea the diaspora wars were this real.”

While Bathé’s lesson was heard by some of her fans, Black TikTok continued to be an unserious place as jokes piled into the comment section. “I need a Sterling K. Brown in every culture, please. All the variants,” one user said.  Another posted, “Lmao, we’ve unlocked Sterling’s multiverse. We love Scottie K. Brown. A third fan joked, “Lmao, sista, you have the real one, I’ll take the Scottish one!” Bathé replied with a playful, “Fair!”
