Amid the aftermath of the settlement in Cassie’s sexual abuse lawsuit filed against Diddy last week, many people online are still reeling at some of the harrowing details. However, others, it seems, have resorted to some serious speculation; and this time, rapper Wale has jumped in to dead the nonsense.

Well, it’s all thanks to some user on social media who posted a video of a story of when he allegedly attended a studio session between Wale and Cassie years ago and described seeing the Bad Boy producer allegedly hang the “Lotus Flower Bomb” rapper over the balcony, though the user never specified what led up to the alleged altercation.
However, as the video began making its rounds on social media, the “Ambition” rapper’s team got wind of it and—unfortunately for speculators and people hell-bent on messy stories—debunked the user’s video. Not only did they deny that it was Wale who was allegedly held over the balcony, specifically calling it a “complete fabrication,” according to The Source, but they went a step further and denied that the individual responsible for the video had never even been in a room with the rapper for this event to happen.
“It is a fantasy written by an outsider to exploit a viral story for clicks,” Wale’s team said in a statement. “The author must have watched The Five Heartbeats on basic cable and got inspired. They have never been in the same room as the people mentioned. Wale has never met Cassie or the author and was never involved in any type of altercation. He wishes peace for everyone involved in the settlement.”
As previously reported by The Root, just one day after Cassie filed the bombshell sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy, the two settled for an undisclosed amount last week.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Added Diddy in a separate statement: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
