But many couldn’t help but notice Tamar Braxton’s strange interaction with her brother-in-law and Cash Money founder, Birdman, during the “Verzuz” performance. Now, social media is asking the real question: Is Tamar cool?
Just before Birdman and the Cash Money clique performed their classic “Bling Bling,” cameras caught Toni Braxton’s little sister dabbing sweat from Birdman’s forehead, and fans couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
According to Kempire, Tamar was also allegedly seen twerking on Cash Money rapper Juvenile. As Tamar famously tells folks, “Have several seats.”
Social media wasted no time, lighting up with commentary about the moment, leaving viewers confused and sparking speculation.
“Is Tamar his assistant?” One TikTok user commented. “I don’t know. It might be some truth to what Towanda was saying.”
On Threads, a user posted, “Tamar is the definition of ‘I didn’t do it, but if I did do it… this is how I would’ve done it.’”
Well, Tamar heard all the hooping and hollering on social media, so she hopped on X to set the record straight. “Now, why are you on stage with your sister’s man @tamarbraxtonher?” one X user asked.
The “Let Me Know” singer reposted and responded: “Cause she couldn’t be here and she loves her husband, so ima hold it down for HER AND MY BROTHER!!!! TF?!”
Even with her response, people are still giving “Tay-Tay” the side eye. One TikTok user wrote, “Sooooo nobody seen the previews of the new Braxtons? Because Tamar being there is very, very INTERESTING !!!” And, well…they kind of have a point.
The timing couldn’t have been any worse, especially with that viral clip from “The Braxtons,” where Towanda accuses Tamar of sleeping with Toni’s ex-boyfriend.
After the Verzuz performance, Birdman and Tamar hopped on a FaceTime call with Toni Braxton to recap the show. Tamar couldn’t hold back her excitement as she informed her sister and her brother-in-law that Verzuz was the #1 trending topic online.
After viewers saw that exchange, their tune began to change.
“After further review, she definitely sent Taytay to watch him, and she did!” a TikTok user commented.
Another added, “Tamar is the sister we all need. She loves her sisters and looks at Birdman like a big brother.”
A third user summed it up perfectly: “I’m so happy to see this. Everyone is trying to make it seem like Tamar was messing with Birdman, and they all got a good relationship.”
