Snoop Dogg has become the talk of the timelines thanks to some recent comments that some are now describing as “homophobic.” And now, others are calling him out about it.

Snoop’s words come from a recent interview he gave on the” It’s Giving” podcast recently where he was there to talk about his music, family, and more. In particular, the “Gin & Juice” rapper recalled a time where he was watching an animated movie with his grandson and had to explain to him how the female lead on the film was able to parent her child with another woman.
To be clear, the character was a Black woman named Alisha Hawthorne (voiced by Uzo Aduba) who had a wife named Kiko and the two raised a son together.
Speaking on the moment, Snoop said that after seeing the characters, his grandson questioned how she was able to have “a baby with a woman” when she was a woman herself.
“I didn’t come here for this shit,” Snoop said. “I just came to watch the goddamn movie.”
He said that, in the moment, he just hushed his grandchild and tried to move one because he didn’t have the words to explain. But now that he’s taken a beat to look back on the moment, he expressed that he’s now apprehensive about going to the movies and upset that he was put in that predicament.
“So it’s like, f*ck me, I’m scared to go to the movies now,” Snoop explained. “Like, y’all throwing me in the middle of sh*t that I don’t have an answer for. It threw me for a loop. We have to show that at this age? Like, they’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”
Unfortunately for him, once his words hit the social media streets, many took major issue with what he said with a handful calling his comments “homophobic” and expressing their disdain.
“Snoop Dogg was homophobic in the 90s and then became pro-Gay when Obama legalized gay marriage to avoid backlash, and now it’s socially acceptable to hate gay people again so he just went back to how he always was. Biggest sellout in Hip-Hop,” one user wrote on X/Twitter.
“Snoop Dogg being homophobic is actually shocking to y’all?” one user questioned.
“Snoop Dogg has sexual assault allegations so the least of his worries should be lesbian cartoon characters,” wrote one other user.
Added another: “Snoop Dogg said he’s 53 and scared of lesbians. Alright bro.”
“Snoop Dogg being homophobic doesn’t surprise me in the least bit. Yall gone learn to stop calling these black celebs uncle and auntie cuz they black,” said another.
However, there were some who understood where the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper was coming from.
“Love who you love, but please keep the children out of it! It’s not fair to them,” one user wrote on Instagram.
“Sexual preference has no business in children’s media,” said another.
One other user added, “[It] should never be in kids movies. Confusing these babies.”
Said another, “He ain’t wrong and I’m gay.”
