After countless years on ABC, where she took over Thursday nights with her hit shows Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder and Greyโs Anatomy, the TV producer announced that sheโll have eight shows on Netflix and will be delivering content that viewers havenโt seen before.
She revealed during her sit down with Netflixโs chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, that she wouldnโt be making a repeat of Greyโs Anatomy, the New York Times reports.
โI said, โIโm not going to make you a second Greyโs Anatomy,โ said Rhimes. โThat was one of the first things I said. And he said, โIโm not interested in you making a second Greyโs Anatomy.โ
Hereโs the list of shows on the way:
A show about a fashionable young grifter written about in New York magazine named Anna Delvey, who conned New York socialites into funding her lavish lifestyle but now sheโs living her not so lavish life in Rikers Island, behind bars.
A version of the Bridgerton Series, which is about eight siblings set in the 1800s, turned into a dramatic series.
A series based on Reset, a book by Ellen Pao about sexism in Silicon Valley.
Pico & Sepulveda, a series set in Mexican California during the 1840s.
The Warmth of Other Suns, a book about the flight of African Americans from the Jim Crow South to the North and the West, thatโll be adapted by Anna Deavere Smith.
The Residence, based off of a nonfiction book about the private lives of U.S. presidents, their family, and the staff.
Sunshine Scouts, which Rhimes describes as โdarkly comic, ironic, twisty show about some foul-mouthed teenage girls who are trapped at the end of the world.โ
Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, a documentary on Debbie Allen reimagining the ballet The Nutcracker.
Iโve already decided which shows Iโll be watching, which is all of them and canโt wait for them to be released.
