It’s likely safe to say Shaquille O’Neal has spent most of his life being one of, if not the tallest, people in the room. The 7-foot-1 NBA icon is known for his staggering height, and while there are of course people that are taller than him, we rarely get to see what that would even look like. That is, until now.
In an epic video posted by Shaq and Hot Freestyle, the basketball legend is seen with University of Florida Gators player Olivier Rioux. Standing tall at 7-foot-9, Rioux is a center for the college basketball team who currently holding the Guinness Record for the world’s tallest teen.

O’Neal is seen in the video pointing down to the director of artist management at Medium Rare, Logan Bohbot, before turning around to stare directly into Rioux’s chest. In a hilarious moment, Shaq slowly looks up to lock eyes with the tall teen, before looking directly to the camera with a look of complete shock and awe.
Per Guinness World Records, Rioux first earned the title back when he was 15 years old, standing at a height of 7-foot-5 at the time. On the official Guinness site, Rioux explains that “after investigation,” doctors explained that his height has everything to do with the genetics of his family. “My father is 6’8, my mom is 6’2 and my older brother is 6’9,” he explained. “So we’re a pretty tall family.”
Naturally, fans were having a blast in the comments of the hilarious post. In a comment with over 8,000 likes, one user wrote, “Shaq has a great sense of humor. A true man of the people.” Another added, “You know it’s wild when Shaq has to look up.”
Many were just grateful to Shaq for brining some levity and laughs to their days. One user wrote, “😂 Funniest video i have seen on the internet today thank you.” Another added, “It don’t even look right,” along with a crying emoji.
