Shannon Sharpe’s Latest Viral Clip Has Folks Saying He Clearly Hasn’t Learned His Lesson

Shannon Sharpe is back in the hot seat on social media thanks to a new clip and it’s not looking too good for him! Let’s break it down.

Things may have been quiet on the Shannon Sharpe front as of late…but all that changed when a newly resurfaced clip began making the rounds on social media. Unfortunately for the former NFL star, it’s resulted in him getting dragged through the mud once again.

As you might know, 2025 wasn’t the best year for Sharpe. Between him getting sued by an OnlyFans model over accusations of sexual assault to the tune of $50 million, getting subsequently fired from his ESPN job, the $20 million defamation lawsuit he and his “Nightcap” podcast cohost fellow NFL star Chad Ochocinco faced and the public scrutiny that resulted from all of it — Sharpe has had better days

Now, thanks to the now-viral clip, that public perception continues. In it, Sharpe could be seen telling Ochocinco that he wanted to take trip down to the Dominican Republic to “treat himself” to some “long-hair, light-skinned” women. However, Ocho didn’t exactly pick up what Sharpe was putting down and told him that he only goes to the DR for soccer purposes.

Sharpe’s response? “I’mma sock something”, he said with a laugh.

As the video began to make the rounds on social media, many online couldn’t help but call him out for apparently not learning his lesson from dealing with women and his lawsuits.

“Unc ain’t learn,” said one person on TikTok.

“Unc ready to pay another $50 million,” one other user wrote.

Another person said, “His bank account has infinite money, cause he ain’t learn his lesson yet.”

Over on Instagram, one person said: “Yup he about to rinse wash and repeat that lawsuit.”

Added another: “Imagine still talking like this as a grown ass man who is damn near 60. Eeeyyuuuck!”

One user decided to quote rapper J.Cole’s 2014 song “No Role Modelz” and added: “Don’t save him. He don’t wanna be saved.”

In an effort to try to save face somewhat, the “Nightcap” podcast official page clarified that the clip was old but regardless of when it was–the fact that Sharpe would make these kinds of comments to begin with it still problematic.
