Sasha Obama was just seven years old when she moved into the White House after her father, Barack Obama, was elected as the first Black president of the United States in 2008.

At the time, she was the youngest child to live in the first residence since John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1961. Since then, we’ve watched her and her older sister Malia grow up in the spotlight with grace, boarding Air Force One, taking family vacations and playing with former First Dog, Bo.
While she’s spent most of her childhood in the spotlight, Obama has done her best to keep a low profile since graduating from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2023. She’s been living in the Los Angeles area with her sister, Malia.
But, of course, the internet just can’t leave her (and her navel piercing) alone. And while she’s been photographed doing things that should be considered completely normal for a twenty-something, it seems some people just can’t let her live.
Back in September 2023, she was seen at a Labor Day Party in L.A. Page Six described her outfit as a “barely-there, colorful bikini top.” They couldn’t help but zero in on the fact that she was smoking in one of the photos.
The now-22-year-old was recently captured at the airport in Los Angeles after arriving on a flight from New York. The story describes her putting her “statuesque physique on display.” But Obama, who was wearing a black cropped tee, baggy grey sweatpants and a Telfar bag, has hardly anything on display here. In fact, if she wasn’t nearly six feet tall and the daughter of a former president, you’d likely walk right past her in this look.
Although some are criticizing her affinity for crop tops, Obama has plenty of fans who love her boho chic street style.
We can’t help but agree with one Instagram user who left some simple advice for the haters on one of her photos, “LET HER LIVE.”
