In a shocking turn of events, Rodney βLil Rodβ Jones has amended his notorious civil and sexual assault lawsuit against Sean βDiddyβ Combs earlier this week. In it, he alleged the mogul participated in sex and drug traffickingβand that Jones himself was a victim of abuse.
The lawsuit remains ongoing, but now Jones has removed numerous high-profile defendants. Originally, the producer and videographer claimed that Universal Music Group and its chairman Sir Lucian Grainge had βaided and abettedβ in Diddyβs alleged abuse.

Now, the claims against Grainge, UMG and Motown Recordings have been dismissed with prejudice. They cannot be refiled. In a sworn declaration filed in court, Jonesβ lawyer Tyrone Blackburn stated:
βBased on my examination of all of the papers submitted in support of both motions to dismiss, which addressed the issues I had, I have concluded that there is no legal basis for the claims and allegations that were made against the UMG Defendants. As such, I have determined that the proper course of action is for all of the claims and all of the allegations to be withdrawn immediately.β
All three entities had previously worked to dismiss the case, stating:
βAll of the claims against Grainge, Motown and UMG Recordings (the βUMG Defendantsβ) in the [second amended complaint] are lacking in any legally cognizable basis. Every claim is premised on the untenable strict liability theory that when one enters into a commercial contract, the payor under that contract becomes liable for anything that the recipient of payment does with the payment. There is no law underpinning such theory and the baseless βgeneral business partnershipβ allegation in the [second amended complaint] provides no support. The claims against the UMG Defendants are entirely bereft of legal merit and should be dismissed with prejudice.β
Combs is battling numerous lawsuits but has remained relatively quiet about his legal woes. There have been many twists and turns in allegations against the star, with some believing that more could be on the way.
