Raven-Symoné is getting all the way real about the body struggles she endured as a child star and the shocking decision she made years ago because of it.

The “That’s So Raven” star opened up about it in a new episode of her “Tea Time with Raven & Miranda” podcast, which she cohosts alongside her wife Miranda Pearman-Maday. Speaking in the episode, Raven revealed she underwent a breast reduction surgery at age 15 after her being told it was what she needed to do in order to get her own show and her father’s own “strong suggestion” that she go through with it. She also shared that she received liposuction at the same ini an effort to keep comments about her weight down.

“I went from a triple D all the way down to a B. Someone said I needed to do it in order to get a show,”she explained, before referencing the liposuction decision: “I was like, ‘Yeah, if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?’ And so, I got a twofer.”

Unfortunately, those surgeries would go on to have an adverse affect on her as she suffered a seizure upon her waking up thanks to the anesthesia. The breast reduction surgery was also unsuccessful as “The Cosby Show” star wound up with multiple scars even 20 years after the surgery. She also had to go back under the knife to get them reduced again as they still weren’t satisfactory to higher ups.

“I have scars. I still have scar tissue to this day. And I gained weight after and had to, like, go back for a quick little, like, [get] a little bit more out ‘cause [my breasts] were still too big for others’ feelings,” she said.

This isn’t the first time that Raven has talked about the challenges she faced as a child star when it came to her body size. Back in October, she detailed how there were discussions about digitally altering her shape in episodes of “That’s So Raven,” saying on “The Bright Side Podcast”:

“There’s this really interesting thing you can do with film, when you’re in television, and you can stretch the film. So if you’re wide and you stretch it long ways, you look skinnier. And, there were talks about that.”
