TMZ first reported that Ross was taken to the hospital by ambulance after someone in his home called 911 and reported a person in distress who was “breathing heavy” and unresponsive. The caller told the dispatcher that the man in distress had a history of seizures; according to TMZ, Ross is known to suffer from seizures.

The person on the phone told the dispatcher that they were trying to wake the man, but he was “slobbing out the mouth.”

A family member denied that Ross was in the hospital, but TMZ published a second report indicating that Ross had been attached to a machine that had taken over for his heart and lungs.

Ross, 42, is reportedly being treated in a cardiac unit. He has been hooked up to extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, or ECMO, something that oxygenates a person’s blood outside of their body before it is pumped back into their body.

TMZ reports that it is a form of life support, which would indicate that Ross is in bad condition.
