The last time we saw or heard anything of note from Drea Kelly, the ex-wife to disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly, was in 2024 after a video of her dancing to a song off Beyonce’s “Cowboy Carter” album went viral on social media. Now, she’s back making news, but this time for something a little more serious.

In new footage posted to Instagram, Drea can be seen visiting a chiropractor, of whom she says she’d been a longtime fan of. Before showing clips of her visit, Drea noted that she was a survivor of domestic violence and that she’d been dealing with a pain in her neck for years stemming from the abuse she endured.
As we previously told you, in April 2024, Drea shed light on her alleged physical and financially abusive marriage to the “Ignition” singer. At the time, she stated that grew up in a household where domestic violence was prevalent and normalized and that was why she stayed with the singer for so long. Her final straw came after her Kelly allegedly slapped her so hard while she was sitting on the toilet that she landed into their bath tub.
Fast forward years later and Drea was finally able to escape and get the help she needed. Now, one type of that help, is coming in the form of an intense chiropractic session.
“I call it psychosomatic trauma. This is another level that I had not seen before,” the doctor said after performing three different exercises on her. Later, when he performed yet another exercise cracking her neck and shoulders, Drea can be visibly seen shaking and crying.
“They quick to tell women just leave and walk away,” she said through tears. “But they don’t understand everything that you’re taking with you mentally and physically.”
She later described the appointment as a “spiritual thing” and an “amazing release.”
“These are not tears of pain, these are tears of joy,” she said towards the end.
