Post-Election Memes That Capture Why Black Folks are Done After Nov. 5

In the wake of the 2024 election, Black people are using memes to share their sadness, frustration and anger online

Black people are still processing everything that happened in (or maybe to) this country on Nov. 5. Those who were optimistic about the idea of a Black woman in the Oval Office are now left feeling disappointed, confused and even angry that the rest of the country didn’t turn out in support of Vice President Kamala Harris.

As they try to process it all, some Black folks are turning to social media to share memes that capture how they’re feeling after learning that Donald Trump will be the next President of the United States.

Check out what they’re sharing.

The Battle is Just Starting

This “What’s Love Got to Do With It”-inspired meme perfectly sums up how some Black women are feeling in the days after the election.

Did He Cheat?

This hilarious meme shows someone who at least wants the idea to go viral.

#Harris2028

Some are already floating the idea of Vice President Harris kicking off another campaign in 2028.

We’re Outta Here

Some Black people, fed up with the state of things in the U.S., are planning to pack up and start over in a new country.

Our stress level has been on 10 leading up to the election, and it’s not likely that it will get better any time soon.

Hmm…

It won’t change the results of the election, but it would be pretty funny.

Black Folks at MAGA Rallies

Clearly there are more Black Trump supporters than we thought, but this sure is funny.

Stressed AF

We might not have been smoking cigarettes or pulling our hair out, but this election night was especially stressful.

We Didn’t Learn?

Haven’t we seen this movie before?

I’m Gonna Need a Minute

The results of the presidential race were shocking to say the least.

We Can’t Do it Alone

This head-shaking meme of Rep. Jim Clyburn sums exactly how tired Black folks are of trying to save this country from crazy by ourselves.

Ready to Roll

Kamala Harris may be going high after losing to Donald Trump, but there plenty of Black women out there who are ready to ride out on her behalf.

What Happened?

We may never understand why the Vice President of the United States lost an election to a convicted felon.
