Real Housewives star Porsha Williams has officially taken herself off the market after announcing her new lesbian relationship with popular Atlanta socialite Patrice “Sway” McKinney. After a hard launch of her new partner, Williams is finally opening up about why she has decided to live her truth.

During BravoCon, Williams teased fans by sharing that she was back in the dating scene and seeing both a man and a woman, without naming either.
Social media was working overtime to try to identify the mystery suitor. The speculation ended when Williams, 44, posted a carousel of photos showing the couple kissing, confirming her new relationship with McKinney.
According to People, Williams shared her reason for revealing her relationship to the public. “I’ve been in reality TV for 10-plus years, okay. But yes, this was definitely different for obvious reasons,” she told the publication. “I didn’t want to hide any parts of me. I felt if I did hide it and it had to be caught somewhere, it just wouldn’t feel authentic,” she continues. “I want to live in my truth, and so in doing that, I have found someone who I really enjoy getting to know, and it’s been great.”
The announcement comes after months of social media sitting front row to her public – and messy – divorce from ex-husband Simon Guobadia, whom she was married to for 15 months. Now, Williams is embracing her first openly lesbian relationship.
In a separate interview with Bravo, Williams said she’s approaching this relationship differently. “I’m just doing what feels natural,” she shared with Bravo. “I really wanted to explore that side of Porsha, and I’m glad I did because I’m really happy. I feel really good about where I am, and my family is very supportive of it.”
RHOA fans watched Williams navigate the challenges in her previous relationships. From her marriage to former NFL player Cordell Stewart to her engagement to Dennis McKinley (with whom she shares daughter Pilar Janaé), and most recently, her whirlwind marriage to Guobadia. She has been transparent about the emotional fallout from those experiences.
“It’s lonely. I can’t connect with other men,” she previously told People magazine.“I’m going to do it different this time. I’m going to be alone until I’m whole. And then when I’m whole, then I will open myself back up so I don’t make the same mistake again.”
While it may be exciting for Williams, it came as no surprise to anyone. In fact, folks wasted no time digging up old footage, especially after fellow RHOA veteran Kandi Burruss shared her encounter with Williams, liplocking in the club.
“She hooks up with girls from time to time,” Burruss shares, “I know it, she knows it, she knows I know it. Baby girl, we are in the same boat together.”
Also, another resurfaced video circulated showing Williams preaching against homosexuality years ago, contradicting her current stance on sexual orientation.
