Opinion: Why Corey Booker is Right to Clap at Democrats For Being Complicit With Trump

New Jersey Senator Corey Booker chastises fellow Democrats and states “we’re willing to be complicit” to Donald Trump

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) just issued a rare public rebuke of his fellow Democratic colleagues. And he said it all with his chest.

Booker accused his colleagues on his side of being “complicit with Donald Trump,” shocking them when he yelled at other Democrats July 29 on the Senate floor and stated that the party “needs a wake-up call!”

According to USA Today, Senator Booker became upset with the politics being played amongst the Democrats, essentially blaming them for agreeing to bipartisan bills, when the Trump Administration and Republicans are using whatever leverage they have against anything the Democrats want passed.

But Booker does not agree with the notion of always giving in to the other side, especially at a time when the Republicans do the opposite, even if it benefits their constituents.

Ever since Donald Trump entered politics, he has been able to turn the political world into his own thinking, no matter the detriment it has on the nation. Initially, Republicans did not buy into the BS he was throwing down, but once he was able to capture the heart of people who did not know any better, and Trump started beating other Republicans, they fell in line. Whether by illegal and/or immoral means, they complied.

Remember when former First Lady Michelle Obama stated during Hillary Clinton’s presidential run against Trump in 2016, “When they go low, we go high?” That did not work for Democrats then, and it’s definitely not working now! The stay nice motto and mindset has not been working for us for too many years, and what’s partly wrong with the Democrats is that they seemingly are afraid to match that energy when that’s exactly what is needed now to regain some semblance of normalcy in this country.

Booker also said to his colleagues, “This, to me, is the problem with Democrats in America right now is we’re willing to be complicit to Donald Trump to let this pass through when we have all the leverage right now.”

The sad reality is that Booker is correct. We all know that there are Republicans who disagree wth Trump and his methods, yet they fell in line to keep their jobs, and it seems like it’s a unified front. I can almost guarantee that if the Democrats demonstrate some type of fight, not only can we have some semblance of an intelligent nation (Much of the world views America as stupid thanks to Trump, his asinine thought process and lack of caring for anyone but himself), we can actually get people to speak out against him, but defy him and his bully tactics.

Fear is a real thing, and it has worked wonders on the Republican side.

As children, we were taught not to allow anybody to bully us. From my experience, the bully usually gets away with his tactics, in part, due to placing fear in the ones he bullies. However, there are times when those who stood up to the bully typically get him to back down because he does not like and/or can’t handle when he is challenged. When others witness the bully backing down from the ones who challenge him, what usually happens? The bully loses his power, and he usually goes away to bully others who do not stand up to him (or the bully gets beaten up and loses all his power).

Donald Trump is a bully! He is bullying the Republicans, so they will not back down. Once the Democrats show him and the Republicans that they are NOT afraid of him and willing to stand up to him, he will lose the power he has, and the Republicans may even grow some balls and start to defy him themselves.

Now, I’m not saying we have to be bullies or be complicit in illegal and immoral acts. I’m just stating that we can’t just allow this man and the Republican party to continue to ruin this country and sit on the side so we can still be viewed as nice. The reason people took a liking to Trump is probably because they admired him for fighting for what he believed in, regardless of whether it was against public opinion or if it was actually right.

I agree with Booker when he yelled out, “The Democratic party needs a wake-up call!”

Now, will they answer?
