If this comes as a shock to you, let us be the first to tell you that you’re not alone. In fact, this bit of information is so out of left field that this author’s eyebrows are still raised. But the “Touch” singer did go into a bit of detail about his time dating the “A Seat At the Table” singer, and what he revealed is equal parts sweet and hilarious.
Sitting down for a new interview with social media comedian Funny Marco for his “Open Thoughts” podcast, Omarion, alongside his B2K group members Lil Fizz, Raz B and J Boog, recalled past old flames. That’s when Omarion (known to fans as ‘O’) shared that he and Solange got together after the group’s first overseas tour with Destiny’s Child many years earlier.
“Destiny’s Child invited us to our first overseas tour in B2K. And me and Solange, we ended up being boyfriend and girlfriend for that little short period of that tour,” O said.
The “Post To Be” singer went on to admit that he “missed” Solange, though he acknowledged that “life happened,” and the two just weren’t connected in the same way anymore. But as far as his memories with the “Don’t Touch My Hair” singer go, they’re all fond.
During another point in the conversation, Omarion recalled being gifted “rocks” by Solange (which were probably crystals or the equivalent) and described her as “deep” back then.
But just in case you were wondering if Solange shared similar feelings, your answer can be found in an Instagram post from 2015. Back then, she posted a #ThrowbackThursday photo of herself and the “Ice Box” singer at a birthday party with her big sister, Beyoncé, and other members of both Destiny’s Child and B2K.
In the caption, she let on that the two of them used to be involved, but they kept it under wraps for a reason.
“Am I trolling, or nah? #tbt to when me and @1omarion were lil teenage boo’s, but used to have hide it because I was scared dem b2k fans would try to cut me, lol,” she said at the time per HuffPost.
But had we all really been paying attention, we should’ve suspected something in 2009 after Omarion dropped his music video for “Ice Box.” Why? Solange was his video girl. Who would’ve thunk it?!
