Lizzo is clearing some things up regarding her non-involvement in Jennifer Lopezβs recently released movie musical about her life and career, βThis Is Me...Now: A Love Story.β
In a now viral clip floating around from the documentary chronicling the making of JLoβs new film titled, βThe Greatest Love Story Never Told,β producers for βThe Wedding Plannerβ star can be seen running down a list of celebrity names who were all reportedly βunavailableβ to make an appearance in βThis Is Me...Nowββwith Lizzo being named as one of them.

However, in a video posted to social media, the βTruth Hurtsβ singer is setting the record straight, revealing that she essentially wasnβt even aware of the project and wasnβt even asked to be a part of it.
βAinβt nobody told me nothing, nobody asked me,β Lizzo said in a TikTok on Thursday addressing the news. βJLo I love you.β
Other stars were reportedly asked (but declined) or were either unavailable, included folks like Snoop Dogg, Jason Momoa and Taylor Swift. But that doesnβt mean the film was without notable names. Folks like Neil deGrasse Tyson, Keke Palmer, Jenifer Lewis, Trevor Noah, Jane Fonda and more did make cameos.
Regardless of who showed up or didnβt, itβs clear JLo isnβt in her feelings about it and ultimately feels she got the people she needed.
βThey [the producers] were giving me a list of all these amazing people, and I was like, βYes, I like all of those people, but thatβs not what I want,ββ she explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. βMy first people were Jenifer Lewis and Jane Fonda, and they were like, βWait, we donβt get it. This is like music. This is young.β And I was like, βNo. This is a council of people who I want to be very diverse. I want all different kinds of people.βββ
She later added: βThese are people with all different personality traits from all different walks of life. But they all have something that affected me in some way β their philosophy on life, on love, on the universe, on music. That was the list that I made.β
