Nicki Minaj just picked a fight with journalist Don Lemon, and everyone is very confused. The rapper has doubled down on her allegiance to MAGA and if a reaction from Lemon is what Minaj wanted…then that’s exactly what she’s getting!

All the madness started when Lemon reported on a protest at a Minnesota church. We previously told you tensions in the state have revved up between residents and immigration enforcement after an ICE agent fatally shot an American citizen two weeks ago. Lemon was on the ground speaking to activists on Sunday (Jan. 18), and apparently, the “Anaconda” rapper wasn’t feeling it.
She responded to Lemon’s post with a shocking message to the journalist and her own fans. “DON ‘C**K SUCKIN’ LEMON IS DISGUSTING,” she began on X. “HOW DARE YOU? I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL!!!!!”
Ironically, Minaj’s recent social media posts have resembled President Donald Trump’s almost to a T. From the capital lettering to the offensive rhetoric, memes and calling for Lemon to be jailed, Minaj seems to be directly inspired by the president, who she recently dubbed “handsome.”
The rapper wasn’t done insulting Lemon, however. She continued, “HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP!!!!!” The Root reported on Minaj’s recent crusade to protect Christians in Nigeria after the president suggested a genocide against Christians is happening in the country. Experts have denounced this conspiracy.
But anywho… Minaj’s homophobic attacks against Lemon sparked massive backlash on social media. “Pedo supporters and enablers are always ultra outraged over nothing,” @JakeBalchNFT tweeted, referring to Minaj’s husband and brother, who are both convicted of sex crimes.
“Imagine Nicki Minaj tanking her whole career like this. Wild,” @karlykingsley said. Word obviously got back to Lemon, who finally responded to Minaj.
Lemon, an openly gay man, spoke to TMZ about Minaj’s homophobic attack against him. “I’m not surprised Nicki Minaj does not understand journalism and is weighing in on matters that are above her capacity,” he said.
If that wasn’t enough, Lemon also took to his own platform to properly give the “Queen” rapper a piece of his mind. “Nicki Minaj, stop talking about s**t for which you know nothing about. This is out of your depth. You are a homophobic bigot. You don’t care about African Americans, and you’re not an African American.”
The journalist continued, “From what I know, you are reportedly an undocumented citizen so you should be deported under Donald Trump’s rules.” He even called Minaj “a pick me” adding Black people and gay people shouldn’t buy her music.
Despite backlash, Minaj doubled down on her offensive language. On X, she wrote on Monday (Jan. 19), “LOL!!! And I purposely wrote it that way b/c I knew that would be the only way to get the c**k suckas to post about it. They would’ve all collectively ignored the despicable behavior displayed by Lemon head.” She continued, “I’m glad they’re angry. They’re about to get angrier.”
Lemon hasn’t responded to Minaj’s latest tweets about him. We also told you all of the MAGA drama surrounding the rapper has landed her in hot water with her own fan base. A petition to deport Nicki Minaj now has over 61,000 signatures.
