Nicki Minaj Dragged Online After Thanking Trump for Threatening Military Violence in Nigeria

Trump said he’s prepared to go into Nigeria “guns-a-blazing” as Christians are reportedly being slaughtered. And Nicki Minaj tweeted her support.

The self-proclaimed Queen of Rap, Nicki Minaj, is being dragged online by both fans and critics for a post she made over the weekend on X, in which she aligned herself with Trump and praised him for threatening Nigeria with military action. Let’s talk about it.

On Saturday (Nov. 1), in a post shared to Truth Social, Donald Trump threatened military action in Nigeria because the country is of “particular concern.” Alleging that Christians are being “mass slaughtered” by “radical Islamists,” he stated that the United States would not stand by and that the country is “ready, willing, and able to save our great Christian population around the world!”

In another post shared on the platform, Trump also announced that the U.S. would go into the West African country “guns-a-blazing” to completely wipe out the “Islamic terrorists,” according to TMZ.

Though it’s not immediately clear why Trump decided to focus on Nigeria this weekend, one reason could be lobbying from his administration and conservative Christian groups, who have been pushing Trump to designate Nigeria as a country of particular concern for the alleged religious slaughter, according to The Guardian.

However, it is clear why folks online are mad at Nicki Minaj after she posted a screenshot of Trump’s original post with a “sense of deep gratitude” for caring about the allegedly persecuted Christians.

“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other,” Minaj wrote in an X post.

Minaj continued, alleging that numerous Christians in countries around the world are also facing the threat of religious persecution, and it is dangerous not to pay attention to the issue. She then signed off by thanking Donald Trump for taking the matter seriously.

“Thank you to the President and his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”

In the comments, fans of the “Super Bass” artist urged the rapper to educate herself on the situation before publicly endorsing Trump.

“Nicki, you really need to educate yourself about what’s really going on and why they are pushing this narrative! Not just look at one post made by the 34x convicted felon Donald Trump! He means them (Nigerian citizens) no good,” wrote one user.

“If you care about the truth, data, and statistics, you know this is a fat lie,” added another.

“The concept of me, a muslim having a fav that is currently thanking Trump for pushing anti-muslim propaganda,” posted @fullfatcowsmilk with a heartbroken emoji.

However, never being one to back down when criticized online, the “Starships” rapper responded to her fans in a series of since-deleted posts. She called the Barbz out for making the issue about themselves rather than the alleged persecution that Nigerian Christians are facing.

“Imagine hearing that Christians are being persecuted & not being able to have empathy for THEM b/c you are blinded by your own personal obsession with Trump,” she reportedly replied. “This says more about you than him, my darling. Blocked for being asleep. Naija to the world!”

In another deleted post, Minaj scolded a fan for expressing that the artist should worry more about the difficulties that her gay fans in America face, rather than cozying up to Trump.

“Imagine hearing that Christians are being MURDERED and making it about you being gay… I’ll advocate for you the same way that I’m advocating for MURDERED CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA, like I always have…”

While the rapper has stood her ground with this one, it seems like the Barbz are slowly starting to lose their patience and are struggling to continue supporting the “Anaconda” artist.

“I’ve been a fan of Nicki Minaj from the beginning, even though her hating on these up-and-coming rap girls annoyed me, but man, I can’t continue to support someone who is gonna be praising Trump IN TIMES LIKE THIS ARE YOU KIDDING?” posted @ryryliam.
