Fawn Weaver, the CEO and founder of Uncle Nearest Whiskey, is trying to counteract recent backlash she’s been receiving… but unfortunately for her, not even a collaboration with her middle school classmate wasn’t enough to make the internet forget.

We previously told you the businesswoman was dragged after a viral interaction between her and an unnamed man took a turn. The man, who claimed to know Weaver from middle school, awkwardly approached her. This prompted Weaver to diss him in public. In response, folks online accused the Uncle Nearest owner of being rude and disrespectful to the man.
She eventually apologized to him days after the video wet viral, but that didn’t slow the avalanche of criticism… So, she came back with another attempt to win folks over.
While the rest of us were celebrating the holiday season, Weaver posted a video on Instagram making light of the not-so-wholesome moment. She and the middle class classmate– identified as E. Jermon Manuel– reversed roles in the video, with her now being the one to awkwardly run into Manuel, who was interacting with “fans” claiming to know him.
Manuel then dissed Weaver in the video before turning to the crowd and laughing. Clearly, it was a dramatization of the original interaction, but it seems both Weaver and Manuel were able to settle any differences and make light of the situation. In the caption, Weaver wrote, “Same place. Same people. Plot twist” in the caption. According to reports, she even took him out for a dinner.
“We had a great connect over cigars and Uncle Nearest shortly after the viral video,” Weaver responded to commenters. “And we shared what we remembered. But that didn’t actually help until I saw a 6th grade yearbook pic and then knew who he was, as he looks nothing now like he did then. That said, he’s a super cool person and I’m happy he reconnected me with people from 35+ years ago.”
Still, people viewed the new video as a corny attempt to save face. “Lmao, public outrage caused her to not be a POS [piece of s**t] for a day,” @wordslikerad said on X. “Guy should have declined the invite.”
“To save face lol..smh very performative,” @AAfricanrebel wrote.
@KyleGrams said, “this is such a bad video… her reenactment is actually her projecting what she thought happened. he did not press you like that we all saw the video lady.”
“The apology is wacker than the original crime,” @cheo_coker said on X.
“Nah. This ain’t it,” @_joshpray tweeted. “We are way too forgiving.” Many people, however, appreciated Weaver making things right with her classmate.
“Whatever it took to get to this outcome, is worth it. I don’t have nothing bad to say. This was a high effort apology,” @T_A_Activist tweeted. “To recreate the situation and reverse it!”
“I’m glad she did. It was still a bad look on her part. Glad it’s over but folk don’t forget,” @sportsguymarv said. 1
