Last week, a young Black woman named Jada McPherson was the victim of violence and racial abuse allegedly from neighbors Andreea Dumitru and her daughter, Sabrina Starman.

Believe it or not, the conflict started over a parking spot in Queens. And of course, it was captured on camera for the world to see, showing the mother and daughter attacking McPherson with an unidentified male family member while McPherson attempted to defend herself in the unequal fight.
Now, in an attempt to explain their side of the story, Dumitru, 45, and Starman, 21, sat down for a 30-minute “tell-all interview” with YouTuber Daniel, better known as StrangeMcKnights.
Within the first three minutes of the video, Dumitru is interrupted by a phone call, and says, “They’re [strangers online] calling me… and harassing me. I have hundreds of calls, death threatening me. Telling me how they’re going to kill us… I fear for my life. I haven’t been sleeping since I got out of jail.”
Dumitru then claims that McPherson did not attempt to communicate with her. Dumitru states that when she came out of her house to ask what the issue was, McPherson kept repeating, “Shut up, b****.”
“She did not even give me the opportunity to say take the parking… She kept degrading me, calling me white trash.” Dumitru also claims that this went on for 45 minutes before the filmed fight took place and states that they were waiting for the police.
Speaking about the violence, Dumitru says that she regrets it and that it wasn’t the right thing to do: “I regret that it was very wrong of me to do. It wasn’t right. I regret it… She chose the violence. She provoked the situation.” Starman then interrupts to say that McPherson started the racial comments:
“Not only with us but with strangers that were trying to just help out the situation before me and her [Dumitru] even got to that point… to that location.” Starman also adds that she doesn’t condone violence, “but I’m human. I’m not perfect. I’m not a robot. I’m not A.I.
“…I wanna say that I apologize for approaching the way I did after being provoked. It’s not the answer or solution to stop a situation, but people like me [Starman is a transgender woman] have fought so much in this country, on this world. I”ve dealt with so much trauma in the past for being who I am as a person.”
The mother and daughter also cleared up that the unidentified male is not a family member but someone they know in the neighborhood.
Though they explained their side of the story and expressed regret at their violence and the consequences from it, the YouTube comments were overwhelmingly not on their side:
“It’s crazy to me that the person who actually ripped locs out of a woman’s head is trying to pretend to be victim,” commented one user.
Another user questioned, “Why didn’t they just move the garbage can and go back inside? Instead of standing of there and subjecting themselves to the 45 minute they describe?”
“Wait a minute, they aggressed her by calling her a monkey and now they’re in fear??? Ain’t no fun when the rabbit has the gun,” added another.
As we reported, Dumitru and Starman are expected to be in court on September 9 to fight charges of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. The mother and daughter can only hope that the court will be more willing to hear them out than the internet has been.
