Katt Williams started 2024 with a bang when he came after a lot of his Black comic counterparts during his January βClub Shay Shayβ interview. Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey and Kevin Hart were just a few who were caught in the crossfire of Williamsβ now-viral conversation with host Shannon Sharpe.
But the βFriday After Nextβ star kept one comedianβs name out of his mouth β an action that started a war of words that has taken on a life of its own.

During a stand up performance, Mike Epps told the audience that he refused Sharpeβs request for an interview, accusing the popular podcaster of being gay.
βThat n***a Shannon Sharpe called me trying to do an interview. I said, βno Medea, I ainβt doing no interview with youβ so you can sit across from me and look at my balls,ββ Epps said.
Although Eppsβ joke caused his audience to erupt in laughter, Sharpe didnβt find it funny at all. And he made his feelings known on the February 12 episode of his nighttime sports podcast βNightcap,β telling co host Chad Ochocinco Johnson he was more upset about Eppsβ suggesting he asked him to be a guest on βClub Shay Shayβ than the jokes about his sexuality.
βI donβt care about that other stuff. You can say Iβm gay. I donβt care about that, because I wonβt chase a lie. But I wonβt let you lie on my name,β he said. βSay my name again, and Iβm gonna release the DMs because youβre lying. You said I reached out to you to come on βClub Shay Shayβ and you a mofo lie.β
And Epps didnβt waste time clapping back in a February 12 Instagram video he captioned, βThis is the same guy who started all this black on black crime on his platform now he is upset and sorry Freda I meant netta.β
βIβm not gonna lie. I did DM you to get on the show. But I DMβd you to get on the show because you brought my name up when you was sitting there with Katt,β he said. βAnd you was trying to get him to talk crazy about me, but he didnβt.β
After suggesting Sharpe bring his beef to the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend events in his hometown of Indianapolis, Epps didnβt hesitate to drop a shameless plug for his Netflix comedy special, which drops on February 20.
And seeing this month-old clip of Mike Epps calling out Katt Williams for not mentioning him in his Club Shay Shay interview, itβs clear that Epps is doing everything he can to make himself a part of the viral conversation.
