Michael Jordan’s Son is Being Punished For His DUI Charges in the Most Hilarious Way

Marcus Jordan was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting an officer. He’s reached a plea deal— but with a catch.

Michael Jordan‘s second-eldest son Marcus Jordan was slammed with charges of driving under the influence (DUI), possession of a controlled substance, and resisting an officer without violence earlier this year. Now, he’s managed to skirt around those charges…but with a few catches.

A police officer found Jordan’s Lamborghini Urus stuck on railroad tracks Feb. 4 in Maitland, Fla. According to a police report, Jordan had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and reeked of alcohol. Jordan admitted to having drinks at a club earlier that night, but insisted he wasn’t over the legal limit. Ultimately he failed three on-scene sobriety tests. Police also described him as combative.

Police body camera footage, which was later released to the public, showed Jordan saying, “I’m Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan’s son.” A white powdery substance was also found in his pocket, which initially tested positive for cocaine but was later confirmed as ketamine, a powerful and fast-acting sedative, painkiller, and hallucinogenic. He was arrested, taken to jail, and plead not guilty to three charges.

According to reports, his case was scheduled to go to trial in June, but was delayed to allow his legal team time for plea negotiations. And a plea deal was granted.

Jordan and prosecutors reached a plea deal which will allow all of his criminal charges to be dismissed, but only if he follows certain stipulations, including a handwritten, 250-word apology letter to the arresting officer he reportedly berated.

Jordan, whose the son of Michael Jordan’s first wife Juanita Vanoy, is also subject to random drug tests, complete 50 hours of community service, have an interlock device put on his car, and make a $1,000 donation to an approved organization over the next 12 months, among other conditions.

In March, Jordan “acknowledges that he needs help to overcome the challenges of his alcohol/substance use,” according to PEOPLE. In court filings, Jordan, 34, “respectfully submits that he is an ideal candidate for the Pre-Trial Substance Abuse Education and Treatment Intervention Program due to his strong desire to live as a responsible, drug-free, productive member in the community.”

This wasn’t the first time Jordan made headlines recently. He dated Larsa Pippen, 16 years his senior, who was also married to Scottie Pippen for 20 years — his father’s longtime Chicago Bulls’ teammate. The pair went Instagram official in January 2023, then dated on-and-off before breaking up for good last July.
