Michael Jordan’s Son Distraught by Deaths of Two Icons; Internet Unsure Which Ones

Marcus Jordan has reached back out to his NBA Hall of Fame father, Michael Jordan, after the deaths of “2 icons”

Recent celebrity deaths led Marcus Jordan, who is estranged from his parents, Juanita Vanoy and NBA legend Michael Jordan, to reach back out to them to reconcile his relationship with them. After a social media post stated that “2 icons” dying were the reason for the action, white media automatically assumed that he was referring to Hulk Hogan and Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne. The thought that one of the icons he referenced wasn’t legendary black sitcom idol, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who died in a drowning last week, just shows the lack of awareness those media outlets have for Black excellence.

According to TMZ, the second-oldest son of the formerly married couple took to his social media account to spill the tea and admit he wasn’t on speaking terms with the NBA Hall of Famer and his immediate family.

In the Instagram reel, Marcus also mentioned that he reached out to his siblings, by saying, “Reached out to both my parents & my siblings, cuz life is short and it’s important to spend time with the people you love,” Marcus shared. He confessed that he had been sober for more than three months, but almost ended it when he “almost had a drink.”

Marcus Jordan, the son of Michael Jordan who was charged with possession of ketamine & a DUI in February, is now 107 days sober & posted this after “two icons of [his] childhood,” assumed to be two of Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Ozzy Osbourne, & Hulk Hogan passed away:

Black people knew the deal and made their feelings known regarding who Marcus may have been speaking of.

One user saw through the BS and wrote, “He relates more to Malcolm Jamal Warner than Hulk Hogan or Ozzy Osborne.”

Another wrote, “So Malcolm Jamal Warner (Theo Huxtable) was not motivation enough?!”

One commenter was straightforward with his words, “Running outta money..ain’t no way this fool used 2 white guys as a excuse when Americas son passed Sunday (Malcolm Jamal Warner aka Theo) ain’t no way this a true article”

But, apparently, the story was believed by those who probably thought that Hogan and Osbourne’s death was the actual catalyst.

One user wrote, “Hogan & Ozzy passing hit hard but if it sparks a Jordan family reconnection, that’s powerful.”

Another stated, “Marcus Jordan got spooked by the deaths of Hogan and Ozzy, nearly relapsed—so he calls Dad to reconnect. Life short, soberness long. Case adjourned.”
