Within a matter of hours, timelines lit up with excitement, nostalgia and awe at seeing Michael Jackson’s legacy brought to life on the big screen. If early reactions are any indication, “Michael” is on its way to become one of the most talked-about films of 2026.

Early social media reactions show that excitement for the highly anticipated film is off the charts. If you’re the type of movie goer who is bothered by gut-reactions, outburst, singing, or clapping, you may need to sit this one out. And Black twitter said if you don’t like it — watch it at home.

“Imma tell yall white ppl EARLY!…. us black ppl gonna be singing during the movie. if yall want quiet, just wait for the dvd release😂🤷🏾‍♂️” one fan boldly exclaimed.

“I would not be mad if this movie was longer than Titanic. I need every decade of his life. If it was 5 hours long I would still be seated,” another added.

“Soon as they start playing human nature, the theater workers better pick me off the floor!” a third hollered.

“After this movie, all the Taylor swift, Beyonce, Chris brown, and Drake comparisons will be put to bed finally 🙏🏾,” another wrote.

The “Thriller” superstar will be played by his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, and Juliano Krue Valdi is set to play the younger version of the star. “Michael” is set to release in theaters April 24, 2026.
