Miami Housewife Says Her Shaved Head is Here to Stay After Cancer-Free Diagnosis

"We are keeping the hair!" said Real Houswives of Miami star Guerdy Abraira.

โ€œReal Housewives of Miamiโ€ star and event planner extraordinaire Guerdy Abraira shocked fans with her breast cancer diagnosis in May 2023. Abraira got real with viewers as she shared her diagnosis and treatment throughout RHOM Season 6 โ€“ including the moment her husband โ€” fan-favorite Russell Abraira -- helped her shave her head in anticipation of her hair falling out during treatment.

Now, the reality star says she and her hubby love her new look and that her shaved head is here to stay.

โ€œWe are keeping the hair!โ€ Guerdy told Page Six Style at DIRECTVโ€™s Streaming with the Stars Oscars viewing party in Beverly Hills over the weekend.

Guerdy says Russell, a firefighter for the city of Miami, is โ€œobsessedโ€ with her sexy new look, admitting to Page Six that the close cut comes in handy in the bedroom and is โ€œnow part of foreplay.โ€

The decision to maintain her shaved head is just another way Guerdy has tried to maintain some control throughout her cancer battle.

โ€œIโ€™ve had no control throughout this entire cancer journey, and with chemo, hair loss is one of the main side effects,โ€ she said during a confessional on her show. โ€œIf thatโ€™s the only thing I can control, I will, because that hair is gonna fall off on my terms.โ€

Besides loving the way she looks with her new do, Guerdy says the benefits of a close cut also hit her bottom line.

โ€œItโ€™s so empowering,โ€ she said. โ€œAnd honestly, Iโ€™ve saved, like, over $50,000 just not having the wigs and the waves and the this and the that.โ€
